Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

markymar - 03 Dec 2003 11:36

free hit countersDesire Petroleum

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

Good Evening Coeliac1,

I'm sorry you have no respect or interest in my postings or indeed Tesco red wine! I'm no Guru just a fellow investor adding his bit to the discussion. At least I've got the bottle to put my neck on the line and express my price targets in hopefully a pleasent manner.
Kind regards
JPDM Fortunemaker

robstuff - 23 Aug 2005 23:54 - 1685 of 6492

coeliac1, and all the negative posters, this stock really isn't that speculative, the oil is there and it's Desire's. The technolgy has improved and it's just a case of being patient for a huge oil field to come online. I have been a holder of DES for many yrs and seen a lot of ups and downs, this is the most exciting stock to watch for the future and I'm quite pleased there is now difference of opinion as that means a big price hike soon, as with others such as YOO. Not sure if you know something and are trying to run the price down but it never works and i predict 50plus in the next mth, you can quote me on it later if i'm wrong but you know i'm right.

JP "Agreed Robstuff "?

I surprised at you JP, what's in that post you agree with may I ask?

That it's now a fact Desire will find a "huge oil field".

A big price hike soon and a rise to "50p next week".

Both of these seem to go against your postings elsewhere. Why only Monday on two other boards included the following -

"This would mean this week 38p and next week returning above 40p. upto mid year numbers from Desire I believe expected in September we could see 44p as a central figure and I don't discount 48p."

I think you would agree it would take a lot to get to 25% next week. The price maybe showing some small rise now but we both know selling has been going on most of the last 5 or 6 days. The other point - You have always maintained the stance that this share no matter what anyone says it still high risk. Anyone thinking anything else is blinkered, it's a punt like any other, some say 10/1, I just know it's less the 50-50.

If you chould clear this up please as you have often stated your concern over clarity or are we simply seeing your reaction to the criticism of you further up the board ? If so, I don't think it's in anyones interest to encourage these positive v negative postings do you? All info is positive so much better to keep to opinion and give solid reasons to back those up not just rant at people like robstuff.

All the best, and good luck with your Q&A Thursday on iii.

KO.

Tension seems to be on a high at the moment waiting news as the share price is stagnant at moment but how I came in to this share was from a friend who was an accountant who serves the oil industry and back in 1998 his friend was 2 nd in command on the rig and he rang him an told him they had hit oil and was free flowing oil to the surface and to buy as many share possible and I did and he did as well and the rest is history.

It took 2 to 3 years before shell came out the closet and said they had oil shows..oil shows it was free flowing and capped all am saying is dont kid yourself there is not oil there and I believe there is a lot on the politics front that has gone on and still does which we dont know about the hole region has now opened up with the likes of FOGL ,BOR, RKH, and the others.

Its no a matter any more if we go drilling its when!

KO I have UN filtered you on here for the time been and top bit has been removed its time to move on and look forward not look back I hope you can do that.
Also there is nothing stopping you starting your own thread on money-am on the people who enjoy your technical thoughts but ask you to keep them to other threads or your own thread as the chartists do a great job on here and should be respected on the professionalism.

kickoff3pm - 24 Aug 2005 11:00 - 1689 of 6492

I would like to thank the staff at moneyam who responded promptly to my request to have the notice removed.

"As per the data protection act, we're unable to provide any names or
addresses to anyone that doesn't have a warrant.

I have, however, removed the comment as it serves no real purpose other
than to taunt you, and I've requested (privately) that he refrain from
doing anything like it in future."

This board gives people the tools to ignore posters they don't want to read. I don't and never have had these problems discusing any other share. I suspect this problem must be to do with Des and the people it's collected in the past. We all know the history and what happens when your money gets trapped in a share but I have found far more decent people then not so I continue to post. As always it's the minority that get the focus.

KO.

Why has the moneyam BB succumb to all the personal remarks that afflict the other BB's? There was a time where you could come here to find just news, rumours and analysis. Nowadays you can barely find the information thats hidden amongst posters egotistical rants. Could someone please email me when normal service is resumed?

Ed, keep up the good work..

Regards
Lynnzal

markymar - 24 Aug 2005 11:46 - 1692 of 6492

Hi Scaley,

Must go for that pint some time as not a million miles away and that country air might do you the world of good and keep that BP down.

JPDM FORTUNEMAKER - 24 Aug 2005 19:27 - 1693 of 6492

He said 50p in the next month not next week KO3, re-read his post!

I also greatly enjoy reading the posts on Moneyam and have done since mentioned to me by Marky a year ago. I will continue to watch and enjoy the informative posts here. I post mainly on iii and ADVFN and there I'll stay as such, my px targets here I think would only encourage this BB to get clogged up with mindless bickering as seems to have befallen iii and ADVFN.

So, this is my last post for the time being here, no PX targets will get posted here and thanks for all the informative posts which I much appreciate reading here on a regular basis.

Good luck to all and happy hunting
JPDM

Hi all

DES moved up slightly today, however the volume of trades wasn't very high. The recent news of crude oil trading at 67 + usd, may put the market in a more bullish mood tomorrow. The oil and gas sector (UB07) moved down today, the candle is a near doji (meaning not perfect) which appears to be forming a morning doji star. This pattern mormaly forms before an up movement, however the last one failed to move up. I think due to the recent news the market will be more bullish tomorrow. DES should get the buy confirmation. The support for DES is still at the rising trend line & as far down as 0.4025p. The bulls came in at exactly 0.4025p yesterday, this is the low of the rising window (the shadow under the main body). With the 200 day moving average still moving up & 10 & 20 day moving averages moving up also, DES looks likley to continue up.

Good Luck all

Thanks, Eduardo for your daily input.

Been away for a few days and frankly feel that not much is in the background at the moment...just a waiting game.

There now....that should make somewthing happen

markymar - 24 Aug 2005 21:57 - 1696 of 6492

Yep thank you Eddie.

skinnyoldgit i hope i have spelt that ok good to have you back.

You never no whats round the corner

fatoldgit - 24 Aug 2005 22:26 - 1697 of 6492

Hi Marky, Thanks for that.

Had to take the wife away for a treat..cost me a few bob, but got lucky being long of the Nikkei for a week and closed that off.

Also been taking care of business on some threads. You may have noticed.

Someone's being abusive to JP and I'm not too keen on that sort of thing.

All threads now tainted with excessive posts on the subject but I am going for the filter choice so I don't have to read the crap.

I see that Chelsea won 4-0 tonite. Believe a poster lost some money....shame.

Hopefully the message will get through and this thread will return to some sanity and friendliness.

Regards FOG
