Gaddafi should leave the office and ask his ministry of internal affair to run the governement etc...

But, they do not like to talk to each other, the only way for them is fighting as the killing adds to the problem.

As with most idealists, you deplore action, but simultaneously cannot offer an alternative.

I suppose your self-satisfying stance may in your view be the preferred option, but I doubt the Libyan rebels would thank you.

Apologies if I have categorised your pigeon hole incorrectly, I can only conclude from what I read and then understand (clearly not a lot).

As to the military establishment not being very good at thinking, you'd probably be surprised at the reality. In any event the military do not decide to take action, that decision is taken for them.

I liked the underlining.

Reminded me of a petticoat.

8-)

beebusy - 23 Mar 2011 21:30 - 181 of 685

it will end in tears !!!

Whilst there must always be a degree of acceptance by 'the Top Brass', the point remains, they do not make the decision. I would also re-assert my comment re military thinking - it is the military who determine the manner in which the assigned task is undertaken; God forbid the politicians had to think that one through.

cynic - 24 Mar 2011 08:20 - 184 of 685

Bernard M - 24 Mar 2011 08:25 - 185 of 685

ABC News report about a Libyan air force jet shot down for violating no-fly zone: it was a single-engine Galeb, apparently. It was shot down by a French fighter.
