MEDICAL MARKETING, A Speculative Punt That Might Reap Rich Rewards (MMG)

goldfinger - 01 Sep 2004 15:33

This ones a heck of a specualive investment but it seems that the institutions are willing to stomp up the cash to back it in the long term.

Heres the latest news from Killik stocbrokers on the company..........

MEDICAL MARKETING Joint Venture

We recently highlighted Medical Marketing (MMG) as worthy of attention. The company, in which I have a personal share holding, has this morning announced the formation of a joint venture, Genvax, to develop a novel DNA vaccine platform technology.

Human trials have been underway since 2001 in areas such as Lymphoma and Myeloma but the technology has broad applications in cancer, viral and bacterial infections (hence the term platform). The technology works on boosting the immune system by teaching it to identify hard to recognise cancer proteins as foreign and destroy them. Early results from the 25 patient trial in lymphoma are encouraging and evaluation of the result is expected by March 2005. Successful results should mean big pharmaceutical groups will start to take financial and commercial interests around that time.

This looks to be the first of a series of announcements due from Medical Marketing as it has a range of predominantly cancer trials moving into the clinical stage. (news flow could push the price higher)

The stock has made good progress in recent sessions up to the mid-80p level where the company is valued at just under 40 million. ENDS.

Please DYOR

cheers GF.

This has fallen over the side of a cliff by the looks.

Without real news it will see the 200day ma again and test the suppport.

All imo, and I hope it reverses and proves me wrong.

mickeyskint - 04 Jun 2005 11:53 - 1698 of 2444

It's in the hands of the speculators, being kicked all over the place. But it only needs one piece of good news and it will rocket. Remember it's a high beta stock.

Re post 1693, that came straight from DB. I spoke to him when I heard he was coming to Dublin last Friday. My brokers NCB in Dublin attended so I will hear what was said next week.
Cheers balt.

049balt

Hope you post some feedback after the bank holiday weekend as to how David Best's presentation was received last friday. I am a long term holder of MMG having bought initially at the top when MMG first floated on AIM. Followed it all the way down, added on the way up and sold after it peaked in March having learnt my lesson. Now am in the process of buying back.

Like most people on this thread, I want MMG to succeed, Yes, to make money. but recently a reason closser to home makes me want to see the scourge of cancer ended. MMG may be the company to do that. Their business model is very very clever, particularly as regards overheads and control of research developments. David Best has imo brought his vast and very relevant experience to bear since setting up this co. Indeed I was surprised when SC last appeared on this thread and sought so desperately and vainly to attack that integrity that it did'nt produce more comment on the capable management that MMG clearly has. It was interesting that that was the one thing he zeroed in on to attack, It only made this writer regard the man more in the aftermath.

In this for the long term and prepared to wait.

It is a lovely day here in Monaghan, as they say in Ireland "I will say nothing till I hear more". Cheers balt.

I was thinking the same Mickey but even if 049balt said something amazing was about to happen would you buy some more! I might not have a big value holding compared to some but for me i`m in these in a big way.I can`t wait for good news to come out and like some people who have posted before bank some profit and get back in at a later date .

Can't see anything RNS like showing up until at least a few days after the Jersey presentation to allow any ditherers on board.

As for next news:-
Will it be Ru in P2?
Will it be Genvax Vaccine NHL P2 results?
Will it be a licence agreement for Ru with big pharma?
Will it be a licence agreement for Genvax NHL Vaccine with big pharma?
Will it be Genvax Stomach cancer vaccine entering P2?
Will it be Genvax Colon cancer vaccine entering P2?
Will it be Pineapple protease entering P2?
Will it be HIV update?
Will it be Hepatitis update?
Will it be Auto-Immune update?
Will it be a new technology joining the fold?

Who knows but could be any of the above.

mickeyskint - 07 Jun 2005 16:14 - 1710 of 2444

Pete, being that I'm a greedy sod I'll settle for the lot. But as you say "who knows".
