FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

Closed for a further +6... Relieved to have closed, losing my bottle to bet big today now!

Obviously Shortie,

Just wait while I join you in Sept next year after all the high risers built and a clear field ahead.

Ill be tapping your shoulder every second. (need some up to date coaching on indicies)

Cant wait.

Shortie - 15 Dec 2014 17:26 - 16981 of 21973

Me coaching!! Hey I just trade what I see, its like 'catch phrase' and sometimes I post what I'm trading too.

Look at the reversal (go long) cross, I was right, shame I lost my nerve, RSI doesn't look up for it though so back to waiting!

cynic - 15 Dec 2014 17:40 - 16984 of 21973

dow is all over the shop, and (almost) too dangerous to play unless you're glued to the screen

Shortie - 15 Dec 2014 18:08 - 16985 of 21973

Then wait and trade when your happy and able to do so. There will always be another position, but you might not always have funds to trade!

cynic - 15 Dec 2014 18:21 - 16986 of 21973

you're spot on; it was merely a comment :-)
in fact, just to illustrate the point, in the 30 minutes since i last posted, dow has dropped back about 55 to 17204

No such excitement here, just quality time listing to my boy reading, then I'll cook dinner and play CofC for abit before bed.

Stan - 15 Dec 2014 18:54 - 16992 of 21973
