HBOS down below my sell price testing 700p again.
Getting interested, but I think there's some US and
European banks waffling today and tomorrow so it would
probably be prudent to wait for what they say and the
market reaction before jumping in again.
These days, when good inline statements come out, the market
seems to take profit on the old 'buy on the rumour sell on
the fact' strategy, and there's an aweful lot of profit
washing around in financial shares since the rises from March.

Lehman Brothers have beat the street as well.
S@P has just bounced back of the 1074/1075 resistance area.
US Bulls have profit to take from yesterday's rises when the Bears
took theirs from the Monday drop from the open.
So, we've got the US at resistance, DAX and CAC down, and
the FTSE is up in the middle of the trend channel.
Unless the US breaks resistance there will be a sell off
this afternoon on the FTSE in my opinion.
The US will lead us by the nose as usual.

It may just be the small selection of shares I watch..but
there seems to be a lot more trading going on this afternoon
then there was on Monday afternoon - clearing the 'decks'
before Christmas maybe????

US can't seem to make up it's mind.
FTSE is just cycling 5 points either side of 4355.
It needs to move below 4350 or above 4360 to give direction.
Maybe this is one of those days that TP mentioned, where the
US doesn't go anywhere until Europe closes and then makes its
move after about 1640 Hrs.
Trouble with this is, unless you guess the direction right
and take overnight positions on FTSE stocks, it just opens
up there tomorrow and you don't get to trade towards the supports
or resistances.

I've just watched three 5 min candles stop at 1074.5
on the S@P.
If they want it to break through then the boys are
going to have to manipulate the DOW higher to drag it up.
I wonder what they want to happen?

Well, 20 minutes to the close and the S@P still
stuck up against 1074.5.
No point in spoiling a profitable day by taking new
overnight positions on a guess.
Will watch for where the US closes tonight and work
out tomorrows plan later on.
Just going to watch now and keep my pot safe.;-)

S@P has been slowly cycling down since 1730 Hrs.
Ftse is already showing 4335 on D4F quote.
If the decline continues we should have a nice
sea of red to cherry pick from tomorrow morning.
Trouble is, we're only talking about 3 points
on the S@P at the moment, not a lot in the grand scheme of things.
If this happens we should at least visit S2 at 4318,
which is only a hop from the 60 Day EMA at 4310.
Might as well test it if we get that close. ;-)
Come on USA, you know you really want to do it,
so why fight it? :-)

Looks like a flattish to slightly up finish. :-(
The best I'm likely to get now is S1 at 4336, and
I doubt I'll even see that, the way this market
is behaving.
Off to watch the 'Crooked Man' on ITV.
See you in the morning.
