Could you be a winner... (CRT)

dawsinho - 14 Mar 2006 08:59

CHARIOT (UK) PLC
ADMISSION TO AIM
COMMENCEMENT OF DEALING IN SHARES
Chariot (UK) plc (Chariot or the Company), a new venture which intends to retail lottery tickets on behalf of charities, is pleased to announce that dealings have today commenced in its shares following its admission to AIM, a market operated by the London Stock Exchange. Unconditional dealings in Chariots ordinary shares will commence at 8.00am this morning under the ticker symbol CRT.

Prior to, and conditional upon admission, the Company raised 9.6 million (gross), through a placing of 8,350,000 new ordinary shares of 1p each at 115p per share. Following the placing Chariot has 15,964,250 shares in issue and an approximate market capitalisation of 18 million at the placing price.

Noble & Company Limited is acting as the Companys broker and nominated advisor.

Proceeds from the placing will be used to fund the Companys working capital requirements and the marketing and promotion costs associated with the launch of the venture, which is expected to take place during the first half of 2006.

Commenting on the announcement, Craig Freeman, Managing Director of Chariot, said:

"We are pleased to have successfully completed our flotation. The funds raised will provide us with a strong platform upon which to launch our game in 2006 and we look forward to delivering a new and exciting lottery for the benefit of players and charity partners alike".

Chariot will allow the lottery players to choose the registered charity benefiting from their lottery ticket purchases
Chariot is developing its lottery concept into a business model that will be run under society lottery rules.
Players are expected to play the game primarily through the internet. Other methods of playing will be via phone and post.
To date, over 50 charities have signed contractually binding agreements to participate .
The Board has extensive experience of operating lotteries as well as expertise in the gaming and charity sectors. Craig Freeman, Managing Director of Chariot, has start-up experience in the Australian media sector. Tim Holley, Chairman of Chariot, has been actively involved in a number of lottery projects around the world.

p.s - are we the only shareholders in crt??? haha

hangon - 02 Jun 2006 16:46 - 20 of 35

Wow, what a scorcher!

Today sees the [CRT] shares fall from grace, in a spectacular fashion due to a scaling-down and Rights Issue at 5p ( subject to shareholder approval at an EGM).

Seems, Ticket-sales have been low and this affects to whole show and in particular the back-office costs need to be cut. I have to say I missed the promotion and don't know where (or how) the Public will buy the tickets......I suspect this has been overlooked in the excitement of an AIM-launch......being close to the company can hide what turns-out to be obvious later.

See RNS, for up-to-date situation.

Ultimate Cynic - 12 Jun 2006 17:06 - 21 of 35

Anyone - What is the total number of shares in issue including the new shares at 5p?
Thinking it could be worth a punt at these levels.
UC.

hangon - 26 Jun 2006 13:03 - 22 of 35

The RNS should give totals before/after the proposed fundraising.
Profit?...Maybe, but they need a good man at the top - I vote Richard Branson who wanted to run (the real lottery), as he has the necessary "something" to make it happen....and lots of regular customers too...
I suspect (old) shareholders will never see their money back - but maybe those investing today will be rewarded ....but ONLY if the new management really gets Public Exposure........that is crucial....there being nothing (I'm hoping)...underhand or Dishonest about .....their dealing to date.
They have provided funds for charities but need to revise their Name and their PR....how about "YOUR charity".......since every punter can direct their (unused) portion to a named charity.....at least that stops the largess of (the other outfit)......promotng Gay Rights, Opera and ...whatever next?
I have a small punt at 8p - to attend the EGM.
Should be interesting, eh?

EDIT NOTE: The graph (above)...shows that sp falling over 1 month - I thought it was more-rapid .......like a couple of days? Am I so wrong?

hangon - 11 Aug 2006 14:03 - 23 of 35

massive fall today= 25% -as some big Sells go through....these are sub 4p region so it can't be new shareholders, can it?
Indeed it looks as though you can Buy at 3p.

Still, charity begins at home and anyone buying this stock cannot expect to make money - the charities will always come first.
Makes you wonder why it listed on AIM in the first place...grief these were 2.
Management is poor, IMHO and I don't rate the name and website - far too confusing...difficult to play their lottery etc. etc. A lesson in how NOT to, even if their Ideals are sound.

There's an AGM in London soon.

hangon - 17 Oct 2006 11:33 - 24 of 35

Management has made my point today, with a further 85% fall and speculation they will call in the administrators.

I hope the charities are not out of pocket, for there was a rumour Chariot (what a daft name!) was asking charities for a hand-out for "Adminitrative purposes" or some such twaddle.

Maybe the real issue here is that having a "Capture the Public heart-strings businesses", should only be allowed to be run by competant persons, with some evidence the model is sound. Clearly they were on a losing streak from the start., with a hard to find/use Website and stupid names like "Monday"
All IMHO.
Bah and double Bah!

sober - 24 Oct 2006 11:20 - 25 of 35

Someone has picked up 14% and presumably for some reason. At less than 2p and up off the bottom these could pay off.

Technotamed - 06 Nov 2006 13:26 - 26 of 35

I'm in for 5K worth, hoping pennys turn into pounds.

dawsinho - 07 Nov 2006 09:23 - 27 of 35

good luck to you, these have really fell from grace! great idea but management never succeeded. would contemplate sneaking a few at this price but last months trading statement doesn't give any hope unfortunately.

Technotamed - 07 Nov 2006 13:08 - 28 of 35

Couple more large orders late yesterday, somebody knows something.

dawsinho - 08 Nov 2006 11:20 - 29 of 35

up 76% today you lucky bugger!

hangon - 08 Nov 2006 15:34 - 30 of 35

Up "maybe", but look at that spread....doesn't look like much more than MM's wringing out the last knockings.
+Has the Administration issue gone-away?
+Has their business model been fixed?
Grr!
As to Execs having experience....in failure?....how else could this Charity be described when those that lend it money to get going have their trust savaged by gross incompetance. - Running out of cash should be seen as a Deadly Sin. More-so, when your business is cash - no product-risk here - no Wrong-colours, no manufacturing defects. This fiasco is ALL "Poor Marketing" IMHO and a lack of eye-on-ball, .....hoping something would turn-up.
Grr! Grr!

dawsinho - 09 Nov 2006 09:33 - 31 of 35

Spread is ridiculous, but im sure it would be possible to deal inside the quoted spread. And if that was the case, tech 'lucky bugger' could have made himself a nice profit.
as for you second paragraph - i really couldnt agree more!

hangon - 23 Mar 2007 11:53 - 32 of 35

Still thrashing about - up a large % today yet no substance/news I can see.
Must be MM's pushed the wrong button.....it's marked "Exit" and requires a gentle, but steady push.

I just hope these Execs never work again.

hangon - 26 Nov 2007 13:16 - 33 of 35

So the results of the AGM are out - I couldn't be bothered to go - seems to me that with a business in this "Dire" situation, only a very-stupid Board would wait until an AGM to ann. a super wheeze that would turn the trend.

Well, they didn't and the falls continue - let's hope that these Execs fall on their swords - without hullabaloo, rewards, or pay-off etc.
- and- the sooner the better!
