Wow how does one well costs 50% drop in sp...now 17p?

Big Al - 04 Nov 2008 11:38 - 171 of 544

I'm thinking this looks rather cheap today. Watching.

oilyrag - 04 Nov 2008 11:41 - 172 of 544

Must be a buying opportunity. Discoveries not priced in, so shouldn't drop on faliure. With no intention of becoming a producer future values will be based purely on sellable assets. Reading todays RNS only top half of Esmond is a failure. I would expect a return to previous sp's fairly quickley. ie next couple of weeks.

cynic - 04 Nov 2008 11:46 - 173 of 544

bad call oily ..... much better oilies to throw money at, if you have to

oilyrag - 04 Nov 2008 12:26 - 174 of 544

Havn't gone in as yet, still watching HAWK and AFR. Time will tell but I think, gut instinct if you like, that this will recover fairly sharply.

This market is all about taking opportunities when they present themselves, and I think that this is one of those.

This is not advice to anyone only my personal view. Good luck to all.

cynic - 04 Nov 2008 12:44 - 175 of 544

my personal view to you, and remember i held these for quite a while , is do not even think about being tempted to buy

hlyeo98 - 04 Nov 2008 17:33 - 176 of 544

It will end up like Elixir Petroleum

cynic - 04 Nov 2008 17:42 - 177 of 544

i am afraid you could be right, though i always felt that ELP's directors were rewarding themselves far in excess of what the company could afford or its results warranted

gbrown100 - 05 Nov 2008 08:48 - 178 of 544

Holy crap - I look away for a couple of days and it halves it value lol. I'm glad my retirement doesn't rest on my portfolio right now.

I've bought a few of these this morning.

;-0

polska - 05 Nov 2008 10:45 - 181 of 544

i got some at 10.5p

required field - 05 Nov 2008 10:50 - 182 of 544

Been watching...never been in this one before...could not understand what all the fuss was about !....sp really savaged....might be time to buy but they are drilling (a wildcat) I think...if that goes pearshaped you could be looking at 6p or so !.

polska - 05 Nov 2008 10:51 - 183 of 544

but not forever.....plus east and west breagh plus cash

required field - 05 Nov 2008 10:57 - 184 of 544

In the long term it should be a lot higher....but then there are a lot of depressed oilies to choose from !, what I nearly did this morning (should have ) was to buy at 10.25 and sell at 11.25 for a quick buck !, on the dead cat rebound !.

hangon - 05 Nov 2008 11:31 - 185 of 544

Well done to make a profit, as I'm not convinced by Dir buy just 14k-worth when they already hold so much.
Recently EO. ann. a partial failure of a gas-storage facility (but who says this is easy?).
- only history awards "titles" . . . however, sometimes a co will have poor advice perhaps and/or because they failed to understand the other party's (undeclared) interests - or .....?
Does anyone know the history of this company, are they serially unlucky, or just too small to bid for "better" prospects, etc.?

cynic - 05 Nov 2008 12:40 - 186 of 544

for goodness sake, stay away from this share ...... i have a nasty feeling it will not survive

required field - 05 Nov 2008 13:09 - 187 of 544

Plenty of others to choose from and there is is a very big risk with this next well that they are drilling !.

dealerdear - 05 Nov 2008 13:48 - 188 of 544

You sound like the critical parent cynic!
