Priscilla,

I think it's a Scouse thing. I've never heard of the shoe box appeal either.

daves dazzlers - 27 Oct 2004 16:43 - 17027 of 23498

Cilla you have just cracked me up with that line about the pressure-washer,they go abroad to sudan for the children at christmas,,in our area.

daves dazzlers - 27 Oct 2004 16:52 - 17030 of 23498

Oxfan .

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2004 17:04 - 17031 of 23498

I thought the sudanese children filled boxes with goods to send to children in Wales at Christmas

Socrates - 27 Oct 2004 17:07 - 17032 of 23498

How about knitting socks for the soldiers in the trenches?

Jules - 27 Oct 2004 17:14 - 17033 of 23498

Socrates
I have a shed load of wool to give to the cause . It would certainly help clear my clutter:-)

chocolat - 27 Oct 2004 17:43 - 17034 of 23498

You never mentioned you had a shed before, Jules.
So where d'you park your lawnmower?

stockbunny - 27 Oct 2004 18:05 - 17035 of 23498

Afternoon those who are left!

Brocks - the heating is finally turned up nicely so it's safe to
venture in here this evening if you're about later - underfloor
heatings a nice idea, except you get trodden on laying on it to
get warm LOL!
Think I'll take a seat by the fire with a quick cup of tea before
youngest arrives back from his mates house demanding FOOD!!
;>) ahh we may moan, but we love 'em really!!!!

chocolat - 27 Oct 2004 18:09 - 17036 of 23498

Only when they're asleep, bunnie

stockbunny - 27 Oct 2004 18:12 - 17037 of 23498

LOL Choccie - what a great day on the market today!
Worth a quick glass of Cab Sauv' before I depart to the kitchen.

jeffmack - 27 Oct 2004 18:13 - 17038 of 23498

Bunny
They say life begins at 40, but I believe life begins when the kids leave home.

stockbunny - 27 Oct 2004 18:16 - 17039 of 23498

Oh Gawd I hope not, having already turned 40 and with one still in
early teens, that will possibly put me in my 50's!!! Now that's a
sobering thought..so pass the Cab Sauv Jeffie!!
;>)

Socrates - 27 Oct 2004 18:19 - 17040 of 23498

I have a shed, no lawn though, you have to mow them. Raining like a good one here in Cheltenham, I'm glad I'm not a racing fan or I might have had a real miserable day.

Jules - 27 Oct 2004 18:33 - 17041 of 23498

Choccie, didn't I tell you I had a shed when we were downing those beers in Manchester:-)

chocolat - 27 Oct 2004 18:39 - 17042 of 23498

You probably did, Jules - I too have a shed, but I seem to have misappropriated it. ;)
Keep the Cab Sauv cool, bunnie - just off to collect Mr Grumpy - his car's just been wrecked in the rush-hour...jeez, and it's only Wednesday..

This_is_me - 27 Oct 2004 19:05 - 17043 of 23498

In Liverpool they have a saying at this time of the year "A shed isn't for life. It's for a bonfire."

This_is_me - 27 Oct 2004 19:08 - 17044 of 23498

I see the bad old days are back for Sterling - they are printing a lot more.

Big Al - 27 Oct 2004 20:04 - 17045 of 23498

Evening.

Beginning to worry about a few in here. Tea by the fire in slippers smoking a pipe whilst talking about what's in the shed. I may be in my 40's, but not sure I'm ready for that kind of chit-chat yet!

;-)

Quick glass and then dinner - cheers!
