Desire Petroleum are drilling in Falklands (DES)

free hit countersDesire Petroleum

<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well).

Hi all

Thanks to all for the input about the Zig labels.

Lynnzal would you mind updating the board for the next couple of weeks. I can update Monday and Tuesday if you like. I will be on holiday from the 31/08/05 - 15/09/05.

Des made a small gain today, volume was low. DES is still moving up along the rising support line. The 200 day moving average has droped slightly today. The bulls will need to come in with support to keep the average moving up. DES moved up over the 10 day moving average again. If we get a continuation up, We can regard yesterdays gap up as support. The support is at 0.4025p at the moment. The size of the candles are reduced in size and with the doji yesterday, this indicates indecision. This may be because the oil sector has been moving down for the past few days. DES is getting closer to the resistance area, a decision should be made soon, which way the market intends to take DES. The three month up trend being still intact, I think the market will continue in this direction. However the resistance area of 0.4800p (as per Lynnzal) may take a little while to clear. Next week (01/09/05) DES has its interim anouncements, the market may be waiting for this to decide.

Here is the weekly chart, candles have 1 weeks value. You can see we have a doji, which shows indecision.

Hi Eduardo,
Have a great holiday,

You might like a little wine tip,

There is a Portugese grape variety called "Touriga Nacional" which was originally used for making Port and which they are now using for some excellent table wines.

If you are treating Mrs Eddieshare to a posh dinner, have a look at the wine list and see if you can spot some.

It is difficult to find and may set you back 20+ per bottle ....but it is to die for!!!

Have a good one fog

Hi all

First of all I must say my heart goes out to the USA. For those who have lost their lives and those bereaved. It's a sad and awfull time.

I have drawn a different chart again, this shows the support and resistance channel that DES is currently moving in.

DES had more sells than buys today yet DES moved up. It must be the MMs suggesting the price should be moving up. The day opened with a gap up then traded down to the support, then continued to move up closing on the high of the day. This move gives bullish implications, tomorrows trading should confirm this, if the close is above todays close. The 200 day moving average has gone down a bit more today. The candels are above the 10 & 20 day moving averages, which are moving up. These indicators along with DES being above the risisng support line, suggest the market is still intending to move DES up.

I might just try this wine, it better be good for 20.00p though !

Snip from.
http://www.falklandnews.com/public/story.cfm?get=3382&source=3

People may recall that at its July meeting ExCo amended the Offshore Petroleum Licensing Regulations 2000 in order to enable FIG to suspend the operation of the open door licensing system for offshore hydrocarbons exploration. At last weeks meeting ExCo decided to exercise these powers and to close open door licensing throughout the controlled waters of the Falkland Islands for an indefinite period. A notice will appear in the Gazette to that effect.

lynnzal - 31 Aug 2005 00:20 - 1723 of 6492

Nice one Eddie. Thanks for the update and I will certainly do my best to fill the void while you are on vacation....have a good one!
I certainly liked the fact that DES closed above the 42.25p peak (lower high). That effectively confirms thats the decline from the 44.75p high was a three legged corrective decline and terminated at 40.25p. We should now expect to test the 44.75p level.
Regards to all.

markymar - 01 Sep 2005 10:24 - 1725 of 6492

ampuriabrava ,

Welcome aboard the good ship Desire, am sure you will enjoy your ride but will have you biting your finger nails in the near future, the best advice I can give you there are some good links to some web sites at the top of the page and thats the best place for you to start to get a better understanding of what potentially what Impact it could have on the share price if oil is found.

Two bits of the jigsaw to be found yet.

1.Confirmation that we have a rig and dates confirmed for drilling to re commence in the NFB.

2.Drilling commences and then its time to play your own game plan.when to sell or hold on tight.

Enjoy your ride.
