Dow reached abt 10512 and is playing around 10490 area for a while so no need to play "scratching Trades" as the market always ends up taking abit out of you.
Will just watch and see what direction breakout it makes.
Always remember a no position is a position of merit!!!!

afternoon all:
Snoball glad to know that you are an ableseaman again.
I wonder what the dow has in store for us -with all these Bullish comments flying around -makes you want to take a contrarian view at times. As usual we will let the market action decide our actions. It is always much better feeling when we take a chunk out of the market rather than it taking one out of us!!!!

The STOCK INDEXES & MARKETSThe June NASDAQ 100 was lower in overnight trading due to light profit taking as it consolidates some of Monday's rally, which extended last Friday's breakout above this year's broken downtrend line. If June extends its rebound off March's low, a test of the 75% retracement level of this year's decline crossing at 1512.75 is the next upside target. Stochastics and the RSI are bullish signaling that sideways to higher prices are possible near-term. The March NASDAQ 100 was up 4.00 pts. at 1505 as of 6:37 AM ET. Overnight action sets the stage for a steady to firmer opening by the NASDAQ composite index later this morning. The June S&P 500 index was lower in overnight trading as it consolidates just below the 75% retracement level of March's decline crossing at 1145.33. Stochastics and the RSI are bullish signaling that sideways to higher prices are possible near-term. If June extends its rebound, a test of March's high crossing at 1162.30 is the next upside target. The June S&P 500 Index was down 2.90 pts. at 1145.30 as of 6:38 AM ET. Overnight action sets the stage for a steady to weaker opening when the day session begins later this morning.

Dow has gone bullish IMHO - it made a new 20 day high today.
Just to join the other bullish comments flying around.
Will the S&P and DAX 30 follow?

Who cares?

snoball - 06 Apr 2004 22:51 - 1717 of 2279

Could this be the reason the Dow has picked up?

Changes in DJIA Components

Per the announcement this morning of changes in the underlying stocks in the DJIASM , there will be a new DJIA divisor as of 4/8/2004. On 4/8/2004 the following 3 stocks will be removed from the DJIA: AT&T (T), International Paper (IP), Eastman Kodak (EK). The following 3 stocks will be added: American International Group (AIG), Prizer Inc. (PFE), Verizon (VZ).

For a description of how the DJIA is calculated using the DJIA divisor see the section "Index & Contract Features" in the CBOT DowSM Complex Reference Guide.

Dow certainly gave a wow at the end on the long which i opened after closing the short for a gain of 75pts and 60pts on the long. Enough for today.
the fx eurdoll and cable gave a tidy return aswell.
Good friday will certainly be ggod

just watching now.

snoball - 07 Apr 2004 23:22 - 1720 of 2279

It works every time. I call it long and the Dow falls.

zarif - 08 Apr 2004 14:05 - 1721 of 2279

Afternoon everybody:
The jobless figures were good (better than expected). The dollar is strengthening against the eurdoll and cable. The dow futures are up.GE is showing double digit gains etc etc etc.All bullish scenario so far today. So what are our views? Mine is that it is going to climb high today-would not surprise me if we get past 10600 -10650 and than hopefully splat down.Good friday tomorrow and with the long weekend break reckon the volumes will be slight and hence more motility in the market behaviour.
Let the market decide your moves and jump on the bus whether its going downtown or up country.
trade safely and wisely.

afternoon everybody:
Just got in and about to have a peaceful cuppa (the kids are off school and its like WW111 in the house.)
The dollar is giving the Euro and Cable a pasting today so the First real trading day starting on the Ym today -Wonder whats in store for us.My view is that it will be consolidating and than make a move up or down ( i feel it might be pop and drop scene).
Anyway we will let the market decide our actions.Go with the flow as they say!!!

Hi zarif.
My short was stopped out at break even and now the S&P is down 15!
18 below my trade.
Sometimes I wonder why I bother.

snoball - 13 Apr 2004 19:40 - 1727 of 2279

It's just gone through my target now.
I'm done with stops. They lose me more than they are worth.
