interesting punt perhaps, insofar that the downside is about 1.00, being back to where the shares were last night, and the upside is 2.75 from current level ...... worth dwelling on
Might be just as well - I have stripped a load of assets in order to get my hands on some MOG this morning - only to find that the SP has barely moved! On paper I'm expecting MOG to do a VOG, as the amount of resources involved is similar, as is the current production, so there should be blue sky ahead HOWEVER . . . MOG is almost 100% held by institutions and I have a nasty feeling that illiquidity is stifling the SP.
i've been watching this for a few months now. i did consider buying in march but i thought the chart looked a bit toppy. very glad i didn't!!! the big fall was because of an rns saying profits wouldn't be as much as expected but the rns also said it would be a record year for profits. i know the phrase about falling knives and all that , but, surely the drop has been overdone? opinions please.

I think you are properly right the drop looks well over done and that the sp will pick up heading towards the results and when they are announced on 11 July 2006, IMO
This looks like the reason for the drop from the interims last time
52% year on year sales growth was expected to continue
Even with the profit warning they are still saying.
Year-on-year sales growth is expected to be in the region of 34 per cent, with
like-for-like organic growth around 8 per cent. Year-on-year growth in profit
before tax is nevertheless expected to be not less than 25 per cent and growth
in earnings per share not less than 9 per cent.
And are also exploring opportunities to increase the future earnings potential,
including the possibility of expanding the manufacturing capability in Poland.
The Directors also continue to identify a number of attractive acquisition
opportunities and intend to continue the successful consolidation strategy
achieved to date.
The problem is in this game, as you know nothing is certain my CCT is at 61p when all the punters including me are saying its well under price and should be around the 150p level, so who knows.
Soul* ..... I am still chary of buying MOG nowithstanding that it is intrinsically a good or at least sound company .... The lack of liquidity leading to unreasonable volatility etc is a big worry.
As for VOG, my own view is that this is one of the shares that should be bought NOW as it has been hammered (imo) solely due to enforced liquidations elsewhere.
As for Monday, I would certainly expect FTSE to move ahead for DOW finished marginally up on a day of option expiries.
