Space, keep on working in the belief that the harder you work the sooner you finish.
Jeff, after work parties I really am very envious of you there, enjoy to the full :-))
Choccy, you gone to sleep :-((

Think we need another and we can sit either side of the roaring logs chewing the fat, as it were.
In fact a couple with high enough backs and we could sling Choccy's hammock between them.
;-))
Oh, chinese awaits - Later!

Hi guys, Sweet Revenge lost four to five lengths early on, blocked out.
It was only over 1000 metres and had no chance; ran fairly green but jockey didn't touch her with the whip and reckons she'll benefit from the run.
Next run in about two to three weeks and will be over 1200 metres, sorry if anyone lost money but you will get it back.
She returned totally sound and gave me a big kiss in the unsaddling enclosure;
what a thrilling day!!
Had a great crowd of mates there as well.

Hello folks, sorry to be absent today because I know how much you miss me. I did look in this morning but had to do dash to the south where mater Socco is seriously ill. It's my second visit, 390 miles round trip. The family all rallying round for a difficult time.

Hello Socs, so sorry to hear your bad news.
As you say, these times do get the family together and thats the best place to draw comfort from.
I wish you and your family well and hopefully, your mother a full recovery.

Good morning gang. Many thanks for the good wishes, they are all appreciated. One thing that can be relied upon with the "Cafe Crowd" is a liberal dose of support and sympathy, it is very welcome in this day and age.
Unfortunately the prognosis is not good, several strokes, an accumulation of infections and ninety nine and a half years add up to an uncertain future, so every day is a bonus.
As for today, it's bright, blue and brisk and that can only mean one thing, a full English breakfast.

Morning Socs, FEB sounds great, I think I will have one as well.
Your Mum sounds like a bit of a fighter? to still be here after all that illness and at 99.5, whatever happens she must have had an interesting life.

You are right, she has seen a lot of change. I have been researching the family ancestry and her mother was born in 1878. When you look at the history books and see what events have transpired since, the mind boggles.

Socs, absolutely, you mum was born not long after Queen Victoria died, she has seen 2 world wars and enormous changes, she has gone from a horse driven age to the space age, she has been alive through almost the whole of the history of aviation, she has seen the rise and fall of the eastern bloc, she was born when atoms were not accepted science but she has seen the atomic age.
I am sure she has seen many ups and downs and I know its not much comfort but despite her current illness I am sure she has had a facinating life, hopefully she will have a bit more time with you and your family. Take care.

Did anyone see the story about a man who was attacked by some chimps in the news yesterday? Made me fell ill....
