Forex rebates on every trade - win or lose!

hodgins - 10 Jun 2004 18:06 - 1719 of 11056

6 foot 4 here but if height equates to trading skill then there is not a lot of correlation in this instance.
All good traders have long ago put their feet up for the day and enjoying a drink in the garden but I am enjoying the current run up in the pound although trailing stop now set.
Who said you have to stay at home for MPC to get some action!

hodgins - 10 Jun 2004 18:09 - 1720 of 11056

1.85? through or turn or pause?
Overeaction earlier to vague hopes for 0.5% rise.
Some support 1.84, trying to get past 1.8425 or a bit of reversal?

hodgins - 10 Jun 2004 21:24 - 1721 of 11056

Earlier long "gain locked" out. Now reversed short
Under exuburance on the short side after BOE didn't give 0.5 earlier today.
Possible overexuburance on the long side between 12.00-1.00 and 5.30-6.00 when above was reconsidered and possible US premium going into long weekend.
Retracement due and stuck between 1.84/1.825 for hours now.
Only a small overnight short that ideally will hit a limit as I slumber.

hodgins - 11 Jun 2004 08:01 - 1722 of 11056

Closed overnight short, or should I say limit closed it before I got up but +113 a useful start to the day.
Now with US closed I should have the rest of the day off but there must be a long trade with limits and stops in there soon?

Beeblebrox - 11 Jun 2004 08:08 - 1723 of 11056

morning all,
well what a roller coaster cable has been over these past
24 hours - well done hodgins - nice ride that............

again i'll probably miss it, like yesterday, but now inclined to join
you long...waiting for 182.20ish - or am i being greedy...

hilary - 11 Jun 2004 08:17 - 1724 of 11056

Well done, hodgins. Looks like I screwed up by jumping ship too early yesterday afternoon. After being whipsawed on two earlier trades though, I didn't want the same thing to happen a third time even though my indicators said to stay in the trade. That's one of the emotional problems of trading, imo. I'll see if I can stay a bit more disciplined today.

Also looking for a long, but not just yet. Patience, Rodney.

Beeblebrox - 11 Jun 2004 08:25 - 1725 of 11056

little toe only 182.25

hodgins - 11 Jun 2004 08:29 - 1726 of 11056

182.2 more or less, toe dangling but not gone in yet.

Beeblebrox - 11 Jun 2004 08:35 - 1727 of 11056

just heard on gloomberg some fed guy
has said rate rises will be faster
than previosly anticipated - seems a
bit of overreaction - 2 cents down.

hodgins - 11 Jun 2004 08:47 - 1728 of 11056

Long, if for no other reason than off on school run and to dentist.
Limit set and hopefully neither inflicts pain.
Not quite perfect entry

Beeblebrox - 11 Jun 2004 08:51 - 1729 of 11056

large novacaine then hodgins...
good luck

MightyMicro - 11 Jun 2004 09:32 - 1730 of 11056

Hil, come on, pay attention there, dear leader, get your header updated for the new interest rate :))

hilary - 11 Jun 2004 10:08 - 1731 of 11056

Sorry Derek. Slapped wrists ....... I've updated it for you now. It would be useful if you could get some of your rocket scientists to invent something which would update it for me automatically.

:o)

Btw, does your mobile forex device (which you showed me when I wasn't there) include indicators like RSI and Stochs and MA's? And can it do different timescales and periods? And is it just a line or can it draw candlesticks too?

hilary - 11 Jun 2004 10:55 - 1732 of 11056

Long on a buy signal for the Euro, but still waiting for a signal on Cable.

MightyMicro - 11 Jun 2004 11:04 - 1733 of 11056

Hil:

Thank you for the shiny new base rate.

The current version of the mobile software doesn't include indicators and so on, simply streaming line graphs.

However, we have plans to do such things, at least for the more capable mobile devices (smart phones) and Blackberry.

Tellon - 11 Jun 2004 11:10 - 1734 of 11056

I have a short on Euro at the moment. Curently +114 stop at a retrace to 61 though. I think it will keep going down. 1771 my target

hodgins - 11 Jun 2004 12:03 - 1735 of 11056

Ouch, dentist bill worse than pain for finalising two crowns further back than where porcelain rather than gold is partially rebated on NHS.
Earlier long mortally wounded?
Euro didn't go below earlier low of day unlike pound

hilary - 11 Jun 2004 13:40 - 1736 of 11056

Could be seeing a window to enter the Cable long very soon. Imo, of course.

hodgins - 11 Jun 2004 13:55 - 1737 of 11056

I am sitting just a little below flat from around the earlier low of the morning (the width of my stops would probably scare a lot of you but small stakes-anyone else going to the ETrade function next Friday, quite a bit of Fx stuff for neonates like me) so I would be pleased if you could get those windows open
