rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.
for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ
for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

Good money to be made today if you read the swings right, lots to be lost if you read them wrong. I dont understand these at the moment - but I have not traded today - still have my short to try and recover

Couldn't read FTSE today so no trades, tomorrow is bound to be an excellent day, because I'm playing golf so unable to trade.
DOW seems to making an assault on 12700 level now, if it hits it and falls back past 12700 level, it could be a short opportunity. Would be interested if I have read this correctly, from someone with better charting skills than me.

Wouldn't surprise me, some very good yields to be had at the moment, some stocks going ex div then up in value allowing for a small equity profit and also dividend.

Would I be right in thinking Non-Farm Payroll data due at 12:30 our time? Be ready for some significant movements around that time if so!
