zarif - 20 Apr 2004 13:14 - 1748 of 2279

afternoon everybody:
What are your views today for the YM?
Mine are that this week its going up.Today the ftse is toying around 4600(just touched it and fell back slightly). The cable and euro are getting a pasting from the dollar atm. the premarket futures are up.
I think greenspan talks tomorrow.(reckon the feds will do anything hopefully to win the election).
BUT we shall let the market dictate our actions.

Melnibone - 20 Apr 2004 14:53 - 1749 of 2279

I think Alan Greenspan is speaking today.

This will probably keep the markets in an initial tight range
whilst it makes sure that there are no nasty surprises for the
growth or interest rates.

Then it will move according to whether the Dow breaks 10,400 or
10,460. IMHO.

Melnibone.

zarif - 20 Apr 2004 15:21 - 1750 of 2279

Thanks melnibone. I have locked in the profits on the Eurodoll and cable. Also have taken out a short on the Ftse June at 4600 which is looking healthy atm.Just watching the dow atm.

Any idea when this greenspan is talking today?
good luck in your trades.

Melnibone - 20 Apr 2004 17:47 - 1753 of 2279

1930 GMT today

I think it's about 1500 GMT tomorrow, but not certain.

Melnibone.

zarif - 20 Apr 2004 18:07 - 1754 of 2279

many thanks melnibone.
Greenbum usually brings the house down when he speaks so shall watch the Ym carefully.
BTW how are you getting on with capital spreads? I use them occasionaly but am more at ease with Ig.

Melnibone - 20 Apr 2004 18:49 - 1755 of 2279

Capital Spreads is fine. Still not had a requote.

I use them for the US Indices and use CMC for my daily FTSE
Blue Chip scalps.

I play the S@P with Capital Spreads but am building up some
Data and experience on the NAZ100 with a view to trading
that as well.

I don't like the DOW, it's a small price weighted index, rather
than Market Cap weighted, that is easy for the main players
to manipulate.

Melnibone.

zarif - 20 Apr 2004 18:54 - 1756 of 2279

True melnibone:
Have u tried the forex at all. It seems to give good gains and moves and more liquid, stable and less prone to outright manipulation. Also with capital spreads u can try out with a 1/pt on most items which is useful sometimes to test the waters as such.
