David Anderson (CROCODILE)

Bullshare - 25 May 2004 10:53

It is with deep regret I have to inform everyone that Dave Anderson(Crocodile) sadly passed away last night in his sleep.

This is a complete shock to all his family and friends, therefore can I ask everyone to respect their privacy and not phone his home etc.

David was the most likable and open person I have ever met and a huge friend of mine and MoneyAMs.

Whatever I post will never come near doing justice to this great man, so I will simply stop here.

Mike

20.13 I have had a few brief conversations with David's family today. Despite all that has happened they have managed to briefly log onto MoneyAm and seen the numerous postings. I know they are moved by the response. The family are in the process of organising David's funeral but matters are slightly complicated with the Bank Holiday weekend. I will post more in due course when I have some more information.

26 May :I have received many many e-mails with offers of help and offers of sympathy. Many thanks for all these and apologises if I have not been able to reply but I will get round to it. I will also make sure those that have asked me to pass on any messages to Davids family get sent on.

In the meantime I know many of you are wondering what happened. At this stage it is not for me to go into details but suffice to say it is of a natural cause and totally unexpected.

David had withdrawn a little from the site over the last few weeks as he felt he wanted to devote more time to looking after Maria who is very poorly. Although he did not post much in the day I do know he was constantly logging on. He still continued to burn the midnight oil to create each day traders thread and he would spend about 15 hours each weekend creating the Weekend/Monday thread.

16.34 26/May Have come off the phone from Rachel(David's daughter). Today is not an easy day for the family, I think they were so busy yesterday that today has been harder as it has had time to sink in. We talked about Funeral arrangements and Rachel mentioned that they could not book anything yet but will let me know as soon as possible. She mentioned once again about all the postings which they have been busy reading and thank everyone for all the kind words and thoughts. They will arrange a public funeral as they know a lot of people would like to attend.

A message from David's Family:(posted on David's website Snappytrader.com)

Sadly, unlike most on this bb I never had the pleasure of meeting Croc, but will always be grateful for his daily postings and graphs which I both enjoyed and learnt from. My sympathies to his family.

Although we never met, I have watched and read with interest and enjoyment much that Croc had to say on the BB over the years. The world will be a poorer place without him. My sympathies to his family as well.

Just come back, logged on, and now this.

Dave, you've been an example to me
of what a great human being a trader can be.
You've been generous with your time and your hard-won wisdom
and you were a pleasure to meet that one time we met in April.
You've been encouraging and helpful
and I miss you already.
You have closed out your position,
now be at peace.
Thanks.

Chris

In life we all have many, many different types of relationships with each other.

Wherever we all are, on what can be compared to a complex 'relationship tree' of branches, twigs and leaves, we are aware of little pieces of information concerning the interaction of the relationships of numerous others on our 'tree'. We often wish to fill in the 'missing blanks' too, because we are most curious about them. We are also involved with and can communicate with each other in many diverse ways. Some of them are public and some of them are private.

Some of the interconnections on 'the tree' are of no concern to those who are not privy to the really close and really personal types of relationship of just the one person, the key player, in all of what is and can be, a most complex scenario.

Perhaps in all of this, we should remember to be extremely polite. Because now, most importantly, is really the time for grief.

Well said Doc.

I just wanted to say how much I will miss you Croc. We have known each other since the early days on esi, you remember our little gang, Lom, Lee and ourselves :-) Rest in peace my friend.

Rachel, from somebody is going through something similar, my thoughts are with you.

May God be with you all.

My thoughts will be with both David's family and loved ones during, what I'm sure, will be a particularly distressing day. May he rest in peace.

Just to let you know we are taking with us this floral tribute of a Croc for Croc. Its just arrived, so a quick piccie for you all. If anyone has been to David's house you will see where the colour scheme comes from , an enormous toy Crocodile he treasured.

This is to Croc from all the BBers everywhere.

Being away, first chance to look at the board and this, I am deeply shocked by this very sad news, so sorry my thoughts are some what delayed but they are with Dave's family now, God bless

Marzipan - 05 Jun 2004 16:35 - 191 of 321

Just returned from abroad and logged onto this sad news... I am shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Davids sudden passing. Having met David on several occasions, I can only agree with the many kind words said in his memory. I can honestly say that, in this business, no one has helped me more than Croc.
I will miss him as I know everyone else will. My thoughts go to his family.

God bless you David.

We give, we take, we give, we take.
There are net givers and there are pure takers.
Some do it openly, some do it quietly.
Some are appreciative, some are otherwise.

David, IMO and personal experiences, is a consistent, big giver, a gem.
An increasing rarity in this age and time.
In any age and time.

Although David still lives in the memories of many of us, I have just noticed that www.snappytrader.com has gone off the air.
