afternoon everybody:
What are your views today for the YM?
Mine are that this week its going up.Today the ftse is toying around 4600(just touched it and fell back slightly). The cable and euro are getting a pasting from the dollar atm. the premarket futures are up.
I think greenspan talks tomorrow.(reckon the feds will do anything hopefully to win the election).
BUT we shall let the market dictate our actions.

I think Alan Greenspan is speaking today.
This will probably keep the markets in an initial tight range
whilst it makes sure that there are no nasty surprises for the
growth or interest rates.
Then it will move according to whether the Dow breaks 10,400 or
10,460. IMHO.

many thanks melnibone.
Greenbum usually brings the house down when he speaks so shall watch the Ym carefully.
BTW how are you getting on with capital spreads? I use them occasionaly but am more at ease with Ig.

Capital Spreads is fine. Still not had a requote.
I use them for the US Indices and use CMC for my daily FTSE
Blue Chip scalps.
I play the S@P with Capital Spreads but am building up some
Data and experience on the NAZ100 with a view to trading
that as well.
I don't like the DOW, it's a small price weighted index, rather
than Market Cap weighted, that is easy for the main players
to manipulate.

True melnibone:
Have u tried the forex at all. It seems to give good gains and moves and more liquid, stable and less prone to outright manipulation. Also with capital spreads u can try out with a 1/pt on most items which is useful sometimes to test the waters as such.

Not tried Forex yet, but I have been looking at Gold.
It's hovering around the 400$ level which may be a
support bottom if interest rates continue to stay low
and the $ starts to weaken again.
With interest rates this low you're practically in negative
interest rate land if you factor in inflation and the erosion
affect on your capital.
Gold can be likened to a safe haven currency in this scenario.

Melnibone: Gold is definitely on a up trend it will base a bit then rocket up and so will the other coinage metals (espesially silver golds poor partner.)Copper is another one to look up at and with china and india the sleeping giants waking up.

Greenspan does it again, and he's still got tomorrow's
waffle to get through yet. Lol.
10,400 seems to be finding support at the moment.
If the Bears can't drive it below this then they'll close
and take profit which will squeeze it back higher.
All depends if the Bulls want to hold 10,400 or not.

If you check a 10 Day chart, this is where the S@P
found support last week after the drop from 1150.
It needs to break through 1120 for the Bears to take
control.
Could be wrong, but that may depend on Greenspan's
testimony in front of the Senate tomorrow.
Let's see if it holds for the last 10 mins of normal
hours.
