Yet another deadline missed......in fact two: Interims and possibly first commercial placement of a GS unit.
On a positive note, they could be delaying the interims to co-ordinate with ASDA/WM release....very wishfull thinking!
I don't think the start date of the new FD would have a bearing as we all know he's about to start so what impact would such news have?
I suspect the figures must be pretty poor for SEO to hold for what I guess is expected positive news.

garyble: we all know that the figures will be uninspiring so can't see that as a motive for holding. More likely that just haven't had the capacity to get the work done linked with a demob happy FD. The news thing is a possibility. We tend to forget that they are a small company in terms of human resources; getting the story right is maybe more important than hitting non-material deadlines.

Eric,
Point taken in both respects about getting the "story" right and being a small company.
Well all I can say is that I hope they muster up the resources to get the story right by "mid-July" at the latest!...Its only another 10 working days.

My view on the delay in results is that this is another major balls up and lack of awareness on the part of SEO's management (and TD Waterhouse). Why create such uncertainty by giving the impression that results were due today and then suddenly change to mid July. Something stinks here. They could be waiting to announce a deal alongside results but that is no reason to hold up any announcements even if the latter are worse than expected. My view is the results are bad / worse than expected and they are now literally hoping something can be done in terms of deals to mitigate the poor results. What happens when we get 2-3 weeks down the line and no deal is announced AND they announce crap results possibly with the termination of Greenseal. While I'm grumbling the latter also worries me big time now. We are into July and SEO have gone completely silent on Greenseal. They have supposedly been trialling their equipment on new build packing lines for 18 months+ now but we still haven't seen any positive progress. There were 150 engineers at Premier Tech in the US all ready to rapidly roll out Greenseal, all gone quiet there as well. The fund raising several weeks ago was a surprise as was the former FD going without reason.
Finally and it is something that worries many investors and has been pointed out here eralier this week is why aren't the directors filling their boots with shares and putting their money where their mouths are! Very puzzling, or not!
SEO now need to give some very straight answers and some detail as to what is going on.
One of the very few pluses for me this year could be Fidelity buying in (can anyone confirm they still hold) HOWEVER my understanding is that even they can call it wrong big time as with SKP.

Another worrying sign is that if there was some good news RE contracts you would normally here some rumours by now in the national press and as far as I know there's not been a sniff nor even a mention about Stanelco.

All I'm looking for is steps in the right direction, and hoping the interims reveal as much. So as long as that requirement is met, I don't really care when the interims is released.
I believe that there's too much going for GS for it to fail, and as others have already commented, it could simply be ASDA/WM wanting to establish the technology over a significant period {say 1 yr} before their big GREEN announcement {packaging materials and machines}.

Angusrjy,
Leaks on potential deals is one thing, but when a seriously large deal is staring you in the face, you'd best keep your lips firmly shut for fear of blowing it!

Dawall,
Difference of opinion re the reason for the delay, but saying that, I am not going to say you are wrong.
As to directors buying, they have been in a 6 week closed period re the results date and probably longer than that re those ( not yet received ) but expected trial results. I do fully agree the poor communications to investors and I would think T D Waterhouse are none too pleased as it makes them look unprofessional. If I were on the board, I would be making my feelings known to SEO management.
So summing up. Still expect good news over bad, but not happy.

Just received this from Stanelco.
Dear Mr xxxxxxxxx
Thank you for your enquiry
We are finalising the interim results and intend to release them by mid July at the latest. Once we have a firm date we will update the calendar on our website accordingly.
With the recent updates to the website we have had a few technical difficulties amending our calendar information which we have now resolved.
Regards
Robert Duggan
Company Secretary

Well, plenty of people prepared to have a go. It turns out that the date was only a guesstimate in the first place. Duggan blames technical difficulties over the website. Funny that TDWaterhouse didn't know or that could just be a low level response. I suspect that they are just all very busy trying to get the ship afloat. Dawall seems out of date as we just had news two months ago; albeit that gave around now as a target for commercialisation, which I interpret as an installation they can actually charge for. It is also clear that ASDA were still on-side and looking the additional two month exclusivity period. Looking back over the last 18 months all seems quite clear with the key point being the hugely difficult environment with the supermarkets and their suppliers and the hard commercial terms driven. But SEO are hanging in there; if we had a dog (sorry SD) then we would have known by now, I reckon. So, still difficult to predict timescale and success factors but all will be clear in hindsight!

I had some correspondence with Duggan recently regarding leaks. He was very pleasant at first, denied there had been any but when I presented him with the evidence that there had been (emails) he stopped responding. He ignored my emails.
That spoke volumes to me - I'd be out now if my holding's worth hadn't dwindled so much that I've already written off a large amount of cash - may as well stay in, its S*** or bust now, but I'm becoming increasingly suspicious of SEO's executives, their motives, and whether they have been honest with us shareholders.
Are we all mugs, or is this going to come good? I'm fast changing my opinion.

I did mention to a couple of the guys at the golf day where I think this is going, although I won't mention it on here. I do hope it doesn't, cos I had forgotten that my share club have an interest. :-(

Are you inflated with your own self importance? I thought that you agreed that the remarks I made about skewering the board with your questions were in jest.
When I went to the AGM I had about 25 questions requested by several bb members. Of those, I had a few which I personally considered more important than the others.
Although I arrived about half hour late, I was able to ask Martin Wagner two questions - not the ones that you asked me to - and whilst he was answering them, I interrupted him several times to get clarification as to what he meant and what the implications were of what he was saying. Those that were there on the day, Madpad, Tonyrelaxes, Sharesure and a couple of others would confirm that.
Attendees of AGMs do not have carte blanche to ask as many questions as they like; others have to be given an opportunity and anyway only a certain amount of time is allocated to the Q&A sessions. A few of the questions on my list were asked by other attendees.
As I said after the meeting I came down with my first dose of flu in three years and felt pretty rotten for a few days during which time I did not contribute much to the board.
I seem to remember that Tonyrelaxes, Sharesure and Madpad posted pretty accurate and comprehensive summaries of what was said at the meeting and expressed their opinions of the proceedings.
If your questions were not asked the thats tough.
Your remarks above are totally unjustified and undignified and unless you are prepared to repeat your post 17496 to me face to face, I suggest you withdraw it.
The oily one

Why has the tone turned so negative?
I would have thought that any bad news would have to be reported asap - so a delay could be because of good developments - nothing speads faster than bad news - let's all concentrate on the positive aspects of the company which after all is why we invested in them in the first place.
The news in July will finally let us know if the direction the company is going will be successful or not.

I do not think that now is the time for any more conjecture, positive or negative; having come this far it is prudent to just sit back, relax if you can, and wait for the interims, which will come with news of where the company stands. If you are of a really nervous disposition, or cannot afford to loose money in SEO then my advice would be to sell tomorrow, wait until the results are announced and then stand by your computer with your finger hovering above the buy button should you discover that selling was a mistake. I do not think that the present state of the poll justifies me selling my holding, I only have 82k shares, the products already in the bag are, in my opinion good enough to take this company forward. If the R&D division is operational ( I have not seen confirmation of this) then there should be a lot more in the pipeline; SEO are in the sector which is very much to the fore these days, their products are needed and WILL be brought to market one way or another, whether by themselves or through a takeover, who knows?
Is it true that all footballs used by England in World Cup matches degrade as quickly as the teams hopes of winning the Cup?!
