Bioprogress (BPRG)

scorpion - 13 Aug 2003 13:54

Bioprogress is a stock I have been in and out of quite a few times since it floated in May but not much mention here on the Investors' Room. Does anyone else follow this stock. I see it is up 1.5p today and a few good buyers seem to have appeared.

Im enjoying reading the threads on ths site. Can anyone recommend any other good websites to look at for similar decent analysis and chat??

Dil - 25 Feb 2004 22:18 - 176 of 2372

Just my opinion Bones , a lot of it to do with all the hot money in it.

Do you know how many warrants / options there are and what if any there dilutive effect would be ? Someone mentioned this point to me today but can't seem to get an answer.

Dil - 25 Feb 2004 22:19 - 177 of 2372

Maybe goldfinger knows.

Seymour Clearly - 25 Feb 2004 22:52 - 178 of 2372

Robin Reeve, this is the only one without (too many) nutters. I can't keep up with advfn. Every time I look at the BPRG thread there are another 1000 posts! Considering buying a few more tomorrow.

I think Bones has hit the nail on the head. I've been holding stock for quite a while and whilst my average is more than 22p, I'm more than happy to hold the stock on a longer term view. I bought some more stock this morning - in retrospect I should have waited and bought it cheaper later in the day. But over a longer time frame I am sure, given the potential for future royalties from the process, Bioprogress is on to an absolute winner. That surely outweighs short term trading postions. OK it may drop to lower levels, but if you don't need to sell - keep the shares and wait for the results of the technology to follow. Don't make the mistake of thinking that a downward spike in the price over a few days is the end of the world. It isn't.

I know Becks has put a link to this but for the lazy here it is

In the absence of the rumoured licensing deal, Bioprogress lost 24 1/2p to 124p on hefty turnover of 8.9m. Market-makers shook the tree in the hope that some nervous punters would fall out. Many did and could soon be kicking themselves.

From the daily mail

Bones - 26 Feb 2004 08:01 - 184 of 2372

Dil, re the warrants. The warrants are attached to some "units" that were issued before the AIM float and kick in at various levels up to $10 per share. That means that not all of them are dilutive at the current price and it means plenty of new funds will come to the company. No worries on that score personally. Sorry I don't know the amounts involved but I do know it was extensively demonstrated somewhere on the other side's thread.

Bullshare - 26 Feb 2004 08:10 - 185 of 2372

Dil; tend to agree. Stocks go up and they go down. This one has gone up very very fast and was probably too high at the 150p mark.

Profit taking, yes, guilty as charged. But I have still a lot bought from way back which nestles very nicely in a SIPP for the long term. Did actually buy back a small amount yesterday at 126p. Will probbaly by more if it does get to 100-110p(which might be today looking at the early price movement)

Bones - 26 Feb 2004 08:16 - 186 of 2372

Hi Bully. It is fascinating watching the smell of panic here. Can just imagine all those who jumped on at 140+ on margin bricking it big time. Plenty of shorts out there too cleaning up....and plenty cleaning their shorts!

Longer term trend is up! This is putting a decent stop loss area in place too.

Janus - 26 Feb 2004 08:41 - 187 of 2372

Graham Hind and Barry Muncaster were at an event in Oxford yesterday. I understand from someone who spoke to Graham that without giving out any insider info he "ouzed confidence".

I look forward to the results on the 8th of March.

I bought more this morning and happy to hold.

Dil - 26 Feb 2004 08:48 - 188 of 2372

Bullie did you get some more ?

Cheap as chips 10 minutes ago , isn't this called averaging down ? Do moneyam run courses on this Bullie ???

:-)

Scripophilist - 26 Feb 2004 09:43 - 189 of 2372

I am with Dil on this one. I know BPRG better than most people would realise but there was SO MUCH hot money in the stock on the ride upwards that a sell off was inevitable also the bit about leaky stocks is true. I got a right kicking for warning everybody at the top but I think people always get emtional when there money is at stake. IMHO the lack of news is probably deliberate.

Bullshare - 26 Feb 2004 10:18 - 190 of 2372

Dil; I did at 108p as posted on traders thread in the Trader Room(you know me too well to miss a chance like that) Averaging down,,hmmm, having bought originally at 34p and at 48p I call it averaging up:-0. The ones I bought at 126p yesterday , well that's another story:-(

Seen all this with Shield about 4 years ago and had very sore heals. Kept trading Shield in and out , made good money but should of just held and sat back. Aftr FMC deal very happy to hold, and not bothered when or if another deal is in the offing.

This time happy to sell some at top and buy more back on a retracement.

All the fun of the fair.

jfletendre - 26 Feb 2004 10:20 - 191 of 2372

Scripophilist (or anyone!)- what does the expression "leaky stocks" mean?

Bullshare - 26 Feb 2004 10:22 - 192 of 2372

JFL; means confidential information leaking from the company.

Dil - 26 Feb 2004 10:25 - 193 of 2372

You becoming an investor now then Bullie ?

Much more relaxing for someone of your age :-)

Scripophilist - 26 Feb 2004 10:34 - 194 of 2372

Dil, ROFL

jfletendre, leaky lips sink ships.
