Remember to bring jacket and tie for the evening. If wearing tailored shorts, white socks must be worn.

Also no headbutting, gouging or biting and may the best man (me!) win.

Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. I will be at the clubhouse by about 0815, so suggest everyone else gets there not long after so we can have a chat over a cup of coffee. Eric, will find out today if any food will be available on arrival.

if anyone from the maidenhead area would require a lift give me a shout. single female, pub owning, nymphomaniac, brunettes will take priority obviously...........

pjacobs (MoneyAM) - 25 May 2005 13:03 - 182 of 440

im still looking ok for the golf day, just wanted to let you know that i will be bringing (if it's ok) 2 if not 3 companies with me.

Stuart Lane from Man Spread Trading

markusantonius - 25 May 2005 18:12 - 183 of 440

Companies, PJ, or do you mean clients? No problem with moi but I thought we couldn't bring friends along?

ptholden - 25 May 2005 18:58 - 184 of 440

Mark

Have already agreed with MAM, that it is oK to bring along some of their clients to bolster the numbers. Only decision to be made, is do they qualify to be the Challenge Champ??

PTH

markusantonius - 25 May 2005 19:01 - 185 of 440

Makes no difference, PTH, as we're all battling it out for 2nd place, aren't we?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ptholden - 25 May 2005 19:11 - 186 of 440

Yep, all behind the great markusantonious who has manufuactured a new handicap of 11 just for the challenge!!!!!

bandito springs to mind????!!!!????

EWRobson - 25 May 2005 21:15 - 187 of 440

I believe any trade associate should qualify for the prize. No need to make it exclusive to the MAM boards. Primary reason is that MoneyAM are investing in this and I believe we should encourage them. A personal friend should be able to win prizes like nearest the pin and longest drive but not the MoneyAM trophies. Personal view.

Getting all a bit serious guys - we'll be consulting the R&A next.

Surely it's intended as a fun event with some prizes - whoever wins gets the prize - whatever the reason they are playing?

Bobcolby - 26 May 2005 01:42 - 189 of 440

I agree with MG. Anyone who plays shud be eligible for prizes. (Even people who are not single figure handicappers.)

Bullshare - 26 May 2005 06:37 - 190 of 440

Mg; It also means you can now bring your clients and best mates Sergio and Bernhard.

All: Just a word of caution about MG:

1) Check the dress code for the golf course, he has habit of wearing strange outfits at MoneyAM events

2)Lock up your daughters , don't bring them to the golf course

:-)

Son of Satan
So can I take that as a No then?

Don't forget the KY - I'll need it for the barmaids ;)

ptholden - 26 May 2005 08:50 - 192 of 440

Mg Been on the phone th the R&A, they don't mind who enters!

Personally, I am quite happy for anyone to enter and all to be eligble for all the prizes, as long as that is the general feeling. Afterall, it's not quite the Open and is supposed to be a fun day, offering an opportunity for like minded people to chat about both golf and investing.

That's good. Did the R&A say anything about banning little bald gits from attending the event - otherwise we might end up with BS (PGA Retd.) and his new clubs from Aldi. He's decided to take up Golf to meet new and interesting people. They'de clash with my new golfing attire from the Man At Aldi range.

mg ;)

Bullshare - 26 May 2005 09:37 - 194 of 440

Mg; As it happens I have joined The oxfordshire near Thame. Yet to get a handicap but passed the test to be allowed on the course. The test was simple you join and you can play:-) And what is wrong with my Aldi clubs, got a great deal, rather than buying a range of clubs 1 thro 9, I bought five 9 irons , they all add up to same total in the bag, no golfing bag as Aldi had run out, but using an old Safeway carrier bag to cart them around the course instead. Keep getting lots of looks, I am sure they are just jealous.
