How to profit from Betting Exchanges (BEX)

How would you like to trade a market where you get large regular price swings every 10 minutes in the afternoon, seven days a week. A
market where all prices are set purely by supply and demand, few transaction costs, no middle men and you only pay commission if you win? Where you can freely act as a market maker and where you have direct market access and where you can create a spread for others to take?

Betfair has revolutionised the betting market and created an open platform for exchanging risk on sports events. This market is now viewed much more like a traditional financial risk market than an old fashioned betting market. Smart users have realised that there are huge opportunities on Betfair because they can buy and sell risk in much the same way they would in a normal financial market but without the burden of cost or the restricted access that is usually associated with traditional financial markets.

Someone just backed Harold in the snooker (Irish Masters) to win - 40 at 1000 - about 2 mins after he'd already lost the match!

I've noticed that with many snooker matches Betfair are very dilatory with their suspensions; one the other day took about 15 mins, during which time a fair amount of money was matched.

Last 16 of the champions league - those went out included:

Barcelona
Real Madrid
Manchester Utd
Arsenal
Monaco (last yr finalists)

Fundamentalist - 09 Mar 2005 22:15 - 1768 of 10502

last eight (well 9)

no spanish sides

3 italian
2 english
1 french
1 portugese
1 german
1 dutch

now odds on the winner will be italian

Horses seem a little tricky this afternoon. Haven't lost a race yet but haven't exactly covered myself in glory.

No sooner had he opened his mouth than he bagged a chunk on Native Coral in the 15:15

What is point to point? I hear the commentators talking about it all day and specifically on this race but I haven't a clue what it is. Can somebody explain?

Thanks just had a read, Despite making a lot of money on Horses I know nothing about them. Slowly learning though.

Just heard on the commentary that 45 favourites have lost in the last three days. Bookies must be minting it this week.

Harlosh - 10 Mar 2005 17:15 - 1776 of 10502

Not a single favourite won yesterday.

Harlosh - 10 Mar 2005 17:15 - 1777 of 10502
