DD - was at the pub for dinner and only saw bits of the game - seems like we got what we deserved

Lets see what the US election brings - anyone staying up to watch it unfold?

Well if the latest betting is to believed it looks like a Kerry win - markets could be messy in the am especially the oil stocks

I cannot think of anything less that I would stay up to watch than the US election. Watching paint dry would be more interesting. On that exciting note, I shall say goodnight to all you good people.

jeffmack, mostly tourist stuff in Manhattan but spent most of the time in East Hampton on Long Island. Very nice out there. Lotsa sandy beaches and good drinking/eating joints. It was out of season there but that was o.k.
A friend of a friend who is a commodities floor trader tried to get me into the stock exchange but it couldn't be done - very tight security. I just had to content myself with having a look at it from the outside.
Finger prints were taken at the airport. Each index finger tip placed on a glass plate and photo'd. Very easy and took no time at all.

The Party is next Tuesday the 9th! Thanks for pointing it out Priscilla.

Shame Chocy cannot come, everyone must now bring a bottle plus a bit of chocolate.

been to NY many times. Spent a couple of days at Southampton one summer, as you say, the Hamptons are something special.

Off for a trim of the 'barnet fair'; jaccaranda trees are almost in full bloom in the town [there are avenues of them] and they have a beautiful lilac/lavender flower which completely dominates the trees, very nice and they last from now until about Xmas depending on the winds.

Cafe appears empty so had a luke warm cup of tea, milk was on the turn so maybe we should change our milky person? Not the same since 'Baps the Cow' upped and left in a huff.

Appears a close run thing over the pond; expect it'll be another stitch up, the same as when Al Gore lost last time despite getting more votes [alledgedly]!
It'll all be fish'n' chip paper by Saturday.

I too have been there many times,mostly in the winter tho', we always called it the 'Dell' but guess the 'Hamptons' would do just as well; all depends what type of activity you were upto and what part of the anatomy was involved?
