Green Shoots?

Gausie - 26 Nov 2008 13:36

A fair few stocks are starting to edge up again - maybe the start of a recovery or maybe they'll be squashed flat when the dead cat bounces on them.

Post any charts here.

Qualifiers are -

recent uptrend (at least one significant higher high and one significant higher low) current price above a rising 50 day MA.

I've been waiting for one of the part nationalised banks to give a good indication. Here's the first, which looks as if it's just about to pop through and qualify. I post it on here just to bring it to your attention, which I think is the whole idea of the thread. Plus - there's nothing quite like getting in at the bottom.

Exec - Much as you - I've been watching the banks - unfortunately RBS doesn't qualify (yet)? for the criteria for this thread (50day ma) - assuming using 50 day ema.

ExecLine - 12 Jan 2009 09:43 - 194 of 297

Skinny

That's why I explained in my post , '..it's just about to pop through'.

And even when it does qualify, there's some strongish resistance to overcome at 70p or so. To get in, it might be best to wait for that to be breached.

There is also some minor resistance at 85.3p - then there is good scope for a rise right up to 150p on the candlestick chart.

skinny - 12 Jan 2009 09:47 - 195 of 297

Exec - sorry - opened mouth to change feet :-) BTW HBOS is in very similar shape.

Interesting to look at the housebuilders, all looking very positive now according to this thread's criteria, however, you might have said the same in August/September '08....
I suppose the burning question is whether we've seen the worst!

halifax - 12 Jan 2009 12:40 - 197 of 297

The worst is yet to come. imho
