VANE MINERALS, A Cheaper And Lower Risk Route Into The Uranium Market. (VML)

goldfinger - 08 Mar 2005 09:20

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE..

COMPANY WEB SITE.........

http://www.vaneminerals.com/

THE PRICE OF URANIUM IS GOING BALISTIC...

The uranium spot price hasn't seen a down month since 2001. For years now, uranium producers have met just 60% of total annual demand - the other 40% coming from government stockpiles and decommissioned nuclear warheads. This can go on for only so long.

The tightness of supply comes at a time of atomic resurgence. Three large-scale factors have turned the tide in favour of nuclear energy:
geopolitics, global warming and developing world growth.

Analysts are debating over wether the SP of Uranium increase will be three fold within 2007?.

Looks like to me, the best play on the UK market for Uranium and it hasnt gotten away yet like the other two ZBA Zareba and URA Uranium which have multi bagged. Its also in a position to fund its development with a new gold mine producing. Ive added twice this morning and think this one could be very big. Heres the announcement...........

VANE Minerals plc (AIM: VML)

VANE Announces Diversification Into Uranium Exploration And Development

Vane Minerals ('VANE' or 'the Company') announces that it is diversifying its
current project portfolio by entering into the uranium exploration and
development business.

To date 7 uranium targets have been successfully claimed by the Company and 28
further properties have been identified and are under development. VANE expects
to finalise its property position by the end of the first quarter 2005. The
Company is targeting uranium projects that are either at, or near, resource
stage or targets that exhibit similar surface features to mines with past
production, but that have not yet been evaluated for the presence of uranium.

The 35 properties identified are located within a uranium district with
significant past production as well as significant resources. Due to the
current uranium market conditions, we prefer to not identify the location until
we complete our property position. Previous drilling data available for some of
the 7 properties successfully claimed indicate grade intersects from 0.34 up to
1.78% U3O8.

VANE has incorporated a 100% owned subsidiary to hold its uranium properties and
has also successfully recruited a uranium geologist, Kristopher K. Hefton B.Sc.,
who has considerable experience in this field and is a great addition to the
VANE team. Mr. Hefton has worked with VANE's exploration team in the past during
his time at Freeport McMoran, and he has also worked for Barrick Gold
Corporation, Homestake Mining Company and Energy Fuels Nuclear Inc.

Michael Spriggs, Chairman of VANE, commented, 'We are delighted to announce the
addition of these uranium assets to the VANE portfolio and will update the
market with more substantial details once further properties have been claimed.
The uranium market has been strong for some time now, reflecting a long-term
forecast supply shortage and the growing recognition that nuclear energy offers
a cleaner and more energy efficient fuel source. Through our extensive network,
we have identified some quality projects and look forward to releasing further
details when appropriate.'

I didn't think we would see this price again but what do I know, Results this week I hope?

andysmith - 03 May 2007 07:33 - 1790 of 2220

Any thoughts on the drilling update today?

andysmith - 03 May 2007 08:10 - 1791 of 2220

Where is everyone? Lots of comments and interesting thread over last few months, a bit of re-tracement after huge spike and its all gone quiet. Been in and out of VML last year, looks to have a good portfolio and sp has surged due to Uranium portfolio. Are the drilling reports today disappointing? Buying opportunity below 25p?

Global Nomad - 03 May 2007 08:13 - 1792 of 2220

results getting negative reactions on the sp this morning.....

is this an over reaction

Arizona Breccia Pipe Uranium Exploration Update

VANE Minerals Plc ('VANE' or 'the Company') is pleased to provide an update on
its breccia pipe uranium exploration activities in northern Arizona, operating
as VANE Minerals (US) LLC, its wholly-owned uranium subsidiary.

The schedule of the drilling programme for the Miller, Big Red, and Red Dike
Pipes has been modified in order to complete the work obligations required by
the State of Arizona within the stated time constraints of the exploration
permits. Exploration programmes are required to be completed within one year of
approval. Due to limited rig availability, and adverse weather one of the three
drill holes planned for the Miller Pipe was completed and the rig was then moved
on to Big Red, followed by Red Dike, in order to satisfy those work commitments.

DRILLING PROJECTS

Miller Pipe Project

Hole 691-1 was completed to a depth of 1445 feet (441m). The hole was designed
to offset, 60 feet (18m) to the northeast, the mineralised zones encountered in
holes 1640-3 and 1640-5 drilled by Energy Fuels Nuclear, Inc in the 1980's. Hole
691-1 deviated 44 feet (13m) northeast from the collar and out of the pipe and
was barren of uranium mineralisation. The geological results indicate the
high-grade mineralisation encountered in the old holes is contained in the
annular ring fractures of the pipe and that hole 691-1 is outside the annular
rings. Further exploration drilling will focus on the annular rings as well as
the pipe interior and the next hole is planned for the inferred western portion
of the pipe, which has not yet been tested. Annular ring mineralisation
accounted for substantial uranium tonnage in other pipes in the district,
particularly the Orphan Mine, which historically produced 5 million pounds of
uranium oxide ('U3O8'), in addition to mineralisation in the pipe cores.
Drilling will resume at Miller when the rig is released from the other VANE
projects..

Big Red Pipe Project

Hole 696-1 was completed to a depth of 1144 feet (349m). The hole was located in
the inferred centre of the pipe based on historic drilling data. The hole
intersected the pipe from the collar to some point above the Coconino Sandstone
formation (above 600 feet (183m)) and from there remained outside the pipe to
its completed depth. The log showed weak anomalous gamma radioactivity.
Favourable alteration was observed in core and drill cuttings in the formation
at and below the expected level of uranium deposition. Both the gamma log and
alteration are highly encouraging indications that the pipe has undergone a
mineralising event and could contain a uranium deposit. Based on results, the
pipe centre is estimated to be located north of hole 696-1.

The rig was moved to the Red Dike project to satisfy the permit agreement work
requirements, as stated above, and a second campaign of drilling on the Big Red
Pipe is now planned.

Red Dike Pipe Project

Drilling on hole 698-1 is in progress. Drilling production on this hole has
been slow due to difficult drilling conditions encountered in the upper part of
the hole. This zone is at present being cased and drilling will resume on
completion.

Matthew Idiens, Director of Corporate Development commented 'The potential
mineralised ore zone of a pipe is, as a result of the high grades found,
relatively small and therefore it can take a few drill holes to intersect the
zone properly. As an example, 3m lbs U3O8 at a grade of 0.7% could be contained
in approximately 255,000 tonnes. Therefore we are encouraged by the results
obtained so far, none of which diminish our view of the favourability or
potential of any of the targets drilled. Since the 1980's, VANE is only the
second company to drill on the south rim for breccia pipes and the third company
to initiate drilling in the breccia pipe district. With this in mind we aim to
use the experience and expertise gained in this region to continue to expedite
the programme further and we are excited about the prospects of additional
drilling on these targets.'

Kristopher K. Hefton, Chief Operating Officer VANE Minerals (US) LLC, BSc
Geology, who meets the criteria of a qualified person under the AIM Rules -
Guidance for Mining, Oil and Gas Companies, has reviewed and approved the
technical information contained within this announcement.

cynic being rightly punished for greed! ... took my profit once and should have left it at that ..... hey ho ..... report is pretty uninspiring, but just maybe the company is already in talks with interested parties

cynic - 03 May 2007 08:46 - 1797 of 2220

objectively, VML's fall from garce (perhaps temporary; who knows?) is a goiod example of how small cap stocks crash when something does not go quite right .... in this instance, it has not gone exactly either, execpt sp was anticipating far too much.

a chart to remind you ......

There ought to be good support at 22

Big Ted - 03 May 2007 09:33 - 1798 of 2220

well for my sins i'm out despite what i said earlier, although i would pick up more perhaps if they drift in next few days... i am now fed up with small miners, and trying not to tarnish all with the same brush as possibly VML is a quality company, but there you go, look at a (less than inspiring) drill update, and down she goes, i knew i should have sold @31.5p... I see CHP is doing well again this morning... i believe the co is total crap, unfortunately, obviously i didn't hold this view when i bought them... they are down so much now, i think its time to pop them in the drawer and look at them in 12 months time...
So its growth co's for me now... Happy to hold LEAD, should have kept RTN & TAN and should have bought RCG, i would buy the latter but i am thinking 'sell in May and f*ck right off@
*damn, that doesn't rhyme...*

cynic - 03 May 2007 09:45 - 1799 of 2220

CHP doing well this morning? ..... only if you're short! ..... currently down again to +/-6.75

sorry R, i was being sarcastic... lol

hmm I had thought I missed out yesterday when I was at Physio but todays drop is bigger and I don't think it has bottomed out yet so I am still sitting here waiting to buy back in when things look up again :-)
