Is anyone out there? What Ho everybody, South Africa calling......
With current turmoil in the news and me having a few minutes, I thought I'd drop a line to find out how you all are.
See there's a few new[?] regulars, a antipodean back from transportation and all the blue movies have gone but now there's a blue Lady [surely can't be, not, Mags!!].
As you may remember, after building my gaff 3 years ago, thanks mainly to PRM I dropped out of the market and have never re-entered.
Can get 10% on a normal money market Investec account here plus my Allan Gray Balanced Fund has delivered over 30% each year so why struggle?
Anyway, thats all by the by; wondered how Jeffers, Hils,Socs, Spacey, Strormie,Bunny et al are and good to see cafe still on its uppers.
Had 3 weeks in a very damp UK back in June just to jog my memory as to why I came here to this wonderful place altho' have to say we've had a winter with rain just like you get in Manchester or Gloucester.
All of our reservoirs are brimming full of the most precious commodity out here but Paarl golf course that I live on resembles a bog just now.
Anyway, once we get into Sept it will start to get back to norm; actually have a wonderful day today; not a cloud in the sky and 24 degrees which is ok for winter.
Keep it up everyone and good luck; hope there's not too rocky a road ahead.
Bye for now, lw

Hi LW, long time no see. I thought your investments were doing well but I see you are living on a golf course! Which hole do you use as your address? LOL. I had some relatives emigrated to SA in 1934, allegedly. Never heard of them since.
Seriously, glad you are well and in fine fettle. I have just had two weeks with no water due to the water works having too much, it got flooded. Almost comical until it happens to you.

Socs, they will have a huge hill to climb to rescue me ;-)
My house stands at the top of an 18 foot hill, I dont think they will have the experience needed to scale that !

Spacie
They have their own ladder. It was presented to them by a retiring member who was a window cleaner who was scared of heights.

Food is for wimps. Thought you ex RAF types were made of sturner stuff. Much more and wont fit in the cockpit. (must be a joke there)

OK, so I'm a wimp. I like my food and never failed to climb into a cockpit when necessary. Must admit there was not a lot of room in most of them to do what was necessary, anyone who has not hung upside down in a Lightning cockpit hasn't lived.

"anyone who has not hung upside down in a Lightning cockpit hasn't lived" I have never done that but it would be a fantastic thing to do, its still possible in South Africa and when I win the lottery it will be high on my list of must do's.
Socs, have you flown any other fast jets? probably none as fast (or noisy) as the lightning ....
