Sad to hear your 'news'? Socs re crash, early days for reason/blame I suppose.
Was it the Great Western main liner to Bristol/Wales? Usedse to use that one, if so, a lot on my days in 'plod'.

Very sad and have often wondered just how the immeadiate relatives come out of something dreadful like that, how HM Gov compensates and subsequently looks after them in the long term. Don't suppose anyone worries too much until it happens to them.

It was the Paddington Plymouth line near to Newbury. A car apparently on a half barrier crossing hit by the train which was travelling at high speed. As you say, too early to identify why it happened.

Must go out now, back later for a late lunch.

Thanks Socs, checked it out on Telegraph.com, rail accidents are a little to frequent for my liking; flying appears much safer, strange when you think about the mechanics/aerodynamics involved.

Good afternoon all. Just returned from a good mooch around Cheltenham and Malvern antique fairs. Managed to come away without remortgaging the house, I call that a good result.

Actually did some Xmas shopping today, bought my new brother-in-law a horse racing set and my Dad a Tank. One of these days i will grow up!
