hilary - 08 Nov 2004 13:32 - 17963 of 23498

It's alway been quiet in the "Highbury Library", Fundy. Ssshhhhhhhhh.

:o)

Fundamentalist - 08 Nov 2004 13:36 - 17964 of 23498

LOL hils - highbury in the 80s was one of the noisiest grounds in the country - ive been to stamford bridge at times when you could hear a pin drop (think Kanu hat trick for example)

jj50 - 08 Nov 2004 13:45 - 17965 of 23498

Afternoon all.

Hilary - if you are still there, can I ask, what was the e-mail address for the Wellington boot company you used? My daughter would think they are great and would help my birthday present problem for her. Great if you could help.

daves dazzlers - 08 Nov 2004 14:05 - 17966 of 23498

Unfortunately, I remember that day well.

No problem. It was here.

jj50 - 08 Nov 2004 14:21 - 17968 of 23498

Brilliant, hilary = Grandma's present to daughter solved ... and didn't even have to leave desk :-) Much appreciated.

Afternoon all, damp miserable day here in Yorks, a pot of hot tea would be nice, and someone to share it with of course.

little willie - 08 Nov 2004 15:17 - 17970 of 23498

Hi Hicky, what a load of old tosh re these bleddy foreigners taking all your dosh at 'The Bridge', dd's right about memory and days of yor; no wonder you don't want to remember.
That white haired old geezer doing a Rupert Lowe on the club.......
half of your real footballers came from the Southampton Youth Academy......

and....as for wellies.....mucky kid.....and kinky with it I reckon!

Always happy to see Spurs in trouble since Hoddle but before in the days of the late Bill Nicholson, well, they were truly fabulous although drove Danny B mad and Jimmy G to the bottle [or was that Chelseas fault?].

Note..Fabulous read: 'Its a funny old game' by Jimmy Greaves

stockbunny - 08 Nov 2004 15:25 - 17971 of 23498

Afternoon - in time for afternoon tea!
How is everyone?
What a weekend! You'd think fireworks were going to be banned forever
after this year the amount of them that were going off round here over
all 3 weekend evenings! Sorry but what a waste of money - was watching some
with youngest son and he's saying Oh that one's a 40 rocket easily....
Sorry but I can think of better ways of burning money!!

Still at least we have seen our resident urban squirrel over the weekend
too & today so he's survived all the noise as did our cat - just..she was
trying to open the cupboard with the brandy in it by Sunday! ;>)

optomistic - 08 Nov 2004 15:39 - 17972 of 23498

Fireworks greatly reduced round here, all nice and quiet after 11pm.
Nice change!

stockbunny - 08 Nov 2004 16:03 - 17973 of 23498

Not a too thrilling day on the markets - aside of the golden ones!
LOL!! ;>)

stockbunny - 08 Nov 2004 16:41 - 17974 of 23498

One beer on the counter for Dave if he pops in and a Guinness
for Opto - leave that DIY alone for today and put your feet up!!
:>)
I'm off now - hope everyone's day has gone well!!!

Socrates - 08 Nov 2004 16:46 - 17975 of 23498

Good evening one and all. Not a good day on the market although PTG and SVB seem to be on the up a bit. PTG on rumours that BA are going to put freight through Manston and SVB, well who knows what insurers get up to?

I think I fancy a corned beef rissole or two, or ten even!

Priscilla - 08 Nov 2004 16:47 - 17976 of 23498

Oh, Socks! You forgot to mention my favourite share went up nicely today too!

Socrates - 08 Nov 2004 17:09 - 17977 of 23498

Priscilla
Humble apoplexies, I did indeed. Nice little earner that one, but very low key.

Fundamentalist - 08 Nov 2004 17:24 - 17978 of 23498

LW

Sounds like you are of my fathers era re: Bill Nicholson. Dad was a close friend and attended the funeral recently - said it was an extremely sad affair.

I remember meeting Bill several times as a kid and he was as nice as you could wish to meet - even to me an Arsenal fan!!! He was a great loss and the current situation at tottenham is almost a disgrace to his memory

Spaceman - 08 Nov 2004 18:17 - 17979 of 23498

Afternoon all, just popping in for a quick coffee, any chance of another slice of the lemon drizzle P?

Hils by the way do the boot company make anything else? I found this pic on their website. What are they doing????
