From another site. The exclusivity period was extended by eight weeks from the first commercial implementation of greenseal...........
So anyone care to GUESS when it will end?

Still in for the long haul, best of luck to all those bailing.
No sympathy for anyone whose moaning.
it's your money and its your choice.
either you believe in this company or you don't.
wish I was more of a pessimist, but then again.....

I still have ASDA named on SEO's website under Greenseal, History of Product, as a PDF file, when I look at it this still appears at the end of the item:-

"ASDA, the UK supermarket company has seen the potential advantage for both
product quality and cost reductions for their customers and have negotiated a years
exclusivity on the technology for thermoform and tray lidding systems for Stanelco to
supply and where required, retrofit GreenSeal technology to their suppliers
equipment.

Every supermarket knows that a happy customer will return and well packed products
using environmentally responsible materials will assist in keeping customers happy.
ASDA have certainly recognised these facts and the ability of Stanelcos Greenseal
technology to assist them in their goal to Every Day Low Cost and Every Day Low
Prices.

Both Stanelco and ASDA Stores see GreenSeal technology as a revolutionarily step in
sealing technology for food packaging. Stanelco are putting a great deal of resources
into R&D to further improve what is being seen as the next step in food packaging
machinery."

Maybe all is not lost?!

Managed to find this on MAM:

Thanks Gary,

Thats what I was thinking of in my post above, but couldn't find it. That was dated 10th may, so first contracted machine should have been placed by the 5th July.

I'm sure we would have heard about it if it had been, via an RNS, so presumably it hasn't been and the extended exclusivity hasn't yet even started.

Have they been 'slightly naive' yet again in thinking the first contracted machine would be placed within 8 weeks, or has something gone wrong?

Anyone also know any details about the Starpol / Greenseal trial with ASDA that started last December or any details about the 23 different projects they claimed to have been asked to look at by Walmart? On 28th Freb Howard White also said that "we believe that 2006 will be the year we commence full commercialisation of these technologies". Over half way now and nothing or no sign off.

I also recall something around MMF agreements being set up / signed by mid year but not sure if this was something SEO themselves issued or a BB poster, anyone know?

Mad Pad - 28 Jul 2006 09:06 - 18001 of 27111

Dawall, mention of MMF'S in AGM statement of 2May but no dates mentioned.

garyble - 28 Jul 2006 09:25 - 18002 of 27111

"Start to commercialise" could mean absolutely anything....TRIALS comes to mind!

Mad Pad - 28 Jul 2006 09:37 - 18003 of 27111

Garblye the AGM statement is full of similar talk,"furthur discussions""continue to plan""greenseal and starpol being on the cusp of full commercialisation"whatever that means, etc etc. What we need to shift the shareprice is a firm order now no more ifs or buts.

dawall - 28 Jul 2006 09:38 - 18004 of 27111

garable,

Commercialise to me means s / $s in the bank, not further trials. Trials are exactly that and not a commercial contract.

the share price decline is like a slow death. any chance of revival?

ssanebs - 28 Jul 2006 09:51 - 18006 of 27111

spoke to ian balchin yesterday, who confirmed that the exclusivity has ended but the relationship has not, and asda still intend to adopt greenseal. There are no current glitches withGS and seo are not talking to any other company for GS. On funding he said,All i can tell you that it is already in hand. Hr rang on a mobile phone so the line was bad,as he said he was driving to the airport and could only give me a few minutes.

greekman - 28 Jul 2006 09:59 - 18007 of 27111

I have requested via e-mail the official end date of the exclusive trail re ASDA.
I will post on receipt.
The last time I requested info (it was re the results) I received a reply same day.

ssanebs,
Sent my e-mail just prior to seeing your post.
As to SEO not talking to others, does this mean the trial results are not as good as expected, or hopefully ASDA and their suppliers want so many machine conversions that SEO do not want to overstretch, something they have been accused of in the past.
It is the not knowing that is hard to bare.
At the moment I think we are all making guesstimates.

oblomov - 28 Jul 2006 10:14 - 18008 of 27111

None of this adds up.

I dont get how the exclusivity can be up (the 2 month extension, that is) WITHOUT any deals being signed. The extension was to run FROM commercialisation of the first machine (see todays posts above).

Commercialisation surely means when a deal has been signed - it isn't commercial until then. If the extension of exclusivity is up, a commercial deal must have been signed at least 2 months ago and if it had we would have been told.

I wont waste my time challenging ssanebs on this because when I challenged him on an earlier post he defended his claims by totally ignoring me!

But it stinks, if you ask me.

Sharesure - 28 Jul 2006 10:17 - 18009 of 27111

At a market cap. of just 52m surely one of SEO's competitors must regard their IP library worth acquiring - or is it necessary to conclude that their IP is not as good as the company has led us to believe it is? Still a shareholder but very disillusioned with the calibre of the mgt., with the exception of the chairman who has always been very cautious about the comments made by his board at AGM's.

ssanebs - 28 Jul 2006 10:34 - 18010 of 27111

i have just called seo to speak to wagner but he flew to the US yesterday, Balchin is working from home but i told sylvia i had already spoke to him and he was not clear on his answers. As i said he told me "yes exclusivity is over but we are not talking to any other companies and our relationship with asda is the same, so you can read between the lines'' . can someone tell me what he was trying to say. i assumed he was tryiung to say there is no need to extend the agreement as they are not talking to other customers as asda are going to order soon,as the last trials have now been completed.

Sharesure - 28 Jul 2006 10:48 - 18011 of 27111

I thought that we were all hoping that other supermarket/suppliers would be forming an orderly queue the moment the Asda exclusivity period finished.

oblomov - 28 Jul 2006 10:51 - 18012 of 27111

You dont know if its started yet, sharesure, let alone finished!

Haystack - 28 Jul 2006 11:11 - 18013 of 27111

As a follow-on to the discussion on SETS/MM stocks on Level 2, here is SEO from a few minutes ago. You can see the MM trades on the orderbook with their names next to them.

dawall - 28 Jul 2006 11:23 - 18014 of 27111

I thought we were told in past RNSs that SEO were talking to customers across UK, US and Europe but now Balchin says no other customers! Inconsistent t--t. Something stinks here, as does the directors not buying shares, the interims statement and T & G not providing an update despite sp being half of what they said buy at.

Debated whether it was worth giving 1 of the non exec directors a call such as Elizabeth Filkin to get their comment on the current position.

Ever got the feeling you've been shafted?

angusrjy - 28 Jul 2006 11:55 - 18015 of 27111

The exclusivity has been extended by 12 months, it's on the stanelco website now.

greekman - 28 Jul 2006 12:01 - 18016 of 27111

Thanks Angusrjy,
From the site
Stanelco is pleased to announce that the exclusive agreement between ASDA and Stanelco for Stanelcos GreenSeal technology has been extended for a further 12 months. The exclusivity of the agreement will be waived after the first machine has been installed in an ASDA pack house, which will allow Stanelco to then offer GreenSeal to non exclusive ASDA sites.
OK now looks better than no news, as obviously things must be progressing nicely, if not as fast as we all hoped.
Let's hope that the first machine re the installing in an ASDA pack house, is just round the corner. How long is now what matters.
