UT+,
Mail on Sunday didn't do T+ any favours this week!
They had one of their checks on utility prices, for electricity and gas, and used t+ STANDARD rates, rather than the discounted rate a customer would receive as a telephony customer.
Even on that basis, T+ were about 50% up the list though, so would have slaughtered them if the correct rate had been used.

There seems to be so many companies coming into the market offering the same deals, many of whom are network marketing operations. Ever heard of a company called ACN inc, my cousin has been trying to sign me up to them? I signed up to T+ 4 years ago, but didn't utilise the opportunity and returned my joining pack for a refund, beginning to regret that decision now!
However, I don't see how T+ can achieve a 10% market share, especially when you consider the current expansion of firms such as One.Tel (Centrica, a share whose price I am watching very closely!). I would greatly appreciate your thoughts on the above and of ACN.
Cheers,
Mike

Hi Mike,,pity you didnt take the biz for a ride, you would have had plenty of free share options now ready to sell..Never mind its never too late..Charles reckons 10% is his long term goal and with the services we now provide plus the future prospects things are on their way..With all the press coverage we are getting in the last year or so and the fact we have just come 3rd fastest growing company in the UK and 11th best share performer for 2002 goes a long way in our favour..Our results are out at the end of this month and we have achieved gains in profits of around 30 - 45% every time..
As for Network Marketing well it has been said by people whom dont understand this concept that it will take too long to achieve our goals but if we go down the path like the companies you mentioned and spend fortunes on advertising then we become just another company and our prices would come inline with thiers.Exell in the US started in the same way as us and still work along the same lines and are now one of the most recognised companies in the USA,worth billions..ACN is a company ive heared of but know nothing about so sorry cant comment on that..All i know about Network Marketing is that its an exellent way to start a biz with no experience and little cash input to build your self a fantastic source of residual income,,getting paid every month for life again and agian on work previously done,,look at elvis, dead and now making more money than ever!!Some of our guys are now doin 30--35,000 per month for 6 years HARD work, not bad eh??
I hope this helps Mike,if you need anything else then fire away..

Yes well at least i have heard!
Actually i think it's looking a tad overbought, and expect some retracement soon.
I have seen the tariffs from The Carphone Wharehouse, and they certainly look competitive, to say the least!

*Turnover up 78% to 58.0m (2002: 32.7m)
*Profits before tax up 38% to 5.6m (2002: 4.0m)
*Final dividend of 3.25p (total of 5.75p for the full year) to be paid on
11 July 2003
*Subscriber base increased 40% to 134,000 (2002: 96,000)
*Number of services provided increased 40% to 225,000 (2002: 160,000)
*Award of Electricity Supply Licence from OFGEM
Peter Nutting, Chairman, said:
"Since the year end, the level of new customer growth within our core Telecom
plus business has been maintained, as has the level of new distributors joining
the business. If the current monthly figures for customer acquisition are
maintained, we will exceed last year's growth rate during the current financial
year.
"We are clearly beginning to see the benefits of our strong competitive position
as the UK's first low-cost multi-service utility company, which should be
reflected in significantly higher profits for the coming year. Confidence within
our distribution channel is high and I look forward to the future with great
optimism."

U+,
Some announcements in the papers today, the competition is becoming intense!
Acrphone Warehouse have signed 50,000 customers in 3 months, and will surely overtake T+ by the end of the year?
Tesco's are next to enter the fray, and BT are bringing out a mobile that becoms a landline phone within your house, thus requiring you to only have 1 phone.
T+ urgently need to review their tariffs, or they will be blown away by all this.
The 1.76 needs to go now, IMHO!

I agree the 1.76 has to go..As for the competition well it doesnt matter whom enters because T+ is the best value priced package in the UK,,thats what matters..There are hundreds of thousands of people that have not made any kind of switch so there is plenty to go around..

U+,
You may well be right, but the problem is that a lot of those people WON'T change, despite knnowing there are cheaper services available!
Tesco and Sainsbury have a chance, because they are household brand names, and trusted. Most people haven't heard of T+, and therein lies the problem, IMHO. Carphone Warehouse are capturing customers because they enter to buy a mobile, and the salesman has their undivided attention, and is able to spin their pitch, so a fairly easy sales opportunity.
Carphone Warehouse have picked up 50,000 customers in 3 months!
T+ have about 120,000 customers picked up over how many years?
T+ need to revise their tariffs now, and cut out the stupid 1.76!
