Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).
Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.
cheers GF.

Breivik gets 21 years.....how about a firing squad ?.....it's obvious that he had the attack planned for a very long time......menace to society.....

So this mass murderer can be back out enjoying life at the age of 54, probably signing a book and film deal.
21 years for killing 77 people works out at less than 4 months per life and that not counting for all those he injured.
What a pathetic weak sentence. If I was a relative of those killed or injured, I would be livid with rage.
No wonder people take the law into their own hands!
How can this be justice!

If one of the victims was a relative of the judge, he would value the life of those 77 people.
This kinds of sentences encourages any dispute to end up with life threatening actions and killings. The jury should have considered their loved ones were killed by this guy.
This is not justice.

Ahoj,
Your quite right.
Several years ago we had a local judge that was known for his weakness in sentencing until that is his house was burgled (its now a private rest home, so you can imagine how big it is) he then became one of the harshest sentencing judges in the area, especially for burglaries, surprise, surprise.

The Norwegians are very nice people, but if that was a sentence passed in Britain it would encourage all the criminals into committing diabolical crimes.....Norway must hope that will not be the outcome or the result of such a ridiculous verdict.

Interesting take on the Norwegian view to the sentence -
Norway jails "sane" Breivik for maximum 21 years

The maximum sentance that can be passed under Norwegian law is 21 years.
This is revieved after ten years.I think he will die in prison.
All this time he will be in solitary confinement.
