Where's the exclusivity here? Once the first machine is installed, the second machine could be installed for Sainsbury's, Tesco or whoever (subject to trials, of course!).

Exclusivity - no mention of a new deal on their Website stanelco.co.uk accessed through the link immediatly above the posts above. However it is there on stanelcoplc.com.

Reading this it seems ASDA can stop its competitors taking up Greenseal just by not buying one for itself ! Double whammy looser? Cant sell elsewhere and not selling to ASDA?

Why no RNS this time.
18 months now and they still haven't managed to install a machine in a pack house.
When do they think the the 1st machine be up and running.
When will the 200 machines be planned in.
Can the machines run continuously for more than 8 hours
When the 1st machine is installed is that the end of ASDA exclusivity and if so which other companies, if any, do they anticipate lining up.
How fast is Greenseal vs heat sealing.
What other issues are there with G/S (clearly there are some)
What is the latest position with Mondini and other line manufacturers.

This really looks like Greenseal is a long long way off or dead.
If the 1st machine is installed tomorrow then ASDA won't get exclusivity. The fact that they have said this indicates its close to or beyond another 12 months before the 1st machine is converted.

Having ramped SEO to the hilt over the last 18 months Balchin and co. have now got some very serious questions to answer.

It could be that the first installation would be be part of an order so large that it would take SEO a year or more to complete (300 conversions?) during which time they couldn't accomodate any new business, hence giving ASDA the original years exclusivity whilst also enabling SEO to install in non-ASDA exclusive packhouses!

The continued exclusivity may just be a red herring. If no one else is interested then exclusivity means nothing.

Balchin's apparent comments from earlier were that they weren't talking to any other supermarkets so I am presuming they could not use Greenseal to supply them which potentially restricts any role out

I didn't put it very well above, but the point is that the deals will be signed BEFORE the first machine hits the packhouse. SEO will be commiitted to install all the ordered machines - any new orders will wait their turn after the ASDA machines are in place. Therefor, ASDA get their required number first and the benefit of exclusivity is that they get their order in first.

Does anyone know how many ASDA only packhouses there are? Presumably the three that have recently been trialling.

In theory it could be another year before a machine is installed, and then how long before decent cash flow, who knows how much a deal with ASDA is worth,, if ASDA drops Greenseal so will WAL MART then what will the share price be.

The SP seems to have already discounted Asda/WM/Persico as it is now where it was in the old days of pre Asda negotiations. The real issue is that when a share performs as this one has, even the worlds best RNS is unlikely to have a huge impact. The only thing that will is a set of results showing big bucks.
i don't see much point in getting out, but I see even less in putting more in, so I'll sit tight and ride it out. If it goes tits up, then its only money........what the hell.

Doubt whether any company would leave it's self that wide open. No doubt the legal teams of both sides would have gone over this with a fine tooth comb. There must be an agreed time limit, re that first installation

We are told that trials have gone well, they have overcome problems that they had on the m/cs ,how long have they been trying to flog the fag filter? how did things go when WMT + were flown over,SEO are only one of a number of companies that WMT are looking at. If all is well with m/c trials? then why oh why aren't they being put into production in the pack houses

Well, this lot are pretty good at developing technology that hopefully will become the accepted standard for biodepgrable packaging material in the future.

But I tell what, they are even better at putting out confusing and misleading statements either through RNS or on their web site. The announcement on their web site can be read in several different ways and I think that that is what they were hoping to do. And if that is the case, then one has to ask why.

As has been implied in posts above, giving ASDA a full 12 month extension on their exclusivity without mentioning how long it may be before a machine is likely to be installed sounds to me like bad and weak management. I think they all ought to go on a course on investor relations. Idiots!!!

Jeez, to think I neally broke the bank and stayed, in last week! So glad I opted out - should have done so ages ago. Wish all you faithful long-term holders a change in fortune. But now I'm sitting on the fence observing, the future is clear to me - Stanelco could genuinly collapse if no deals are made within the very near future. To survive, more funds will definitely be required to stay afloat and who, in their right mind, would put their hands in pockets after watching all this ***p over the last 12 months? 4.9p at the moment!
