FTSE + FTSE 250 - consider trading (FTSE)

cynic - 20 Oct 2007 12:12

rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

cynic - 06 Jul 2015 18:24 - 18066 of 21973

now down to a relatively important level around 17,660
how greedy do i get?
really not sure ...... if this level breaks, then there is potential of a further 100 point drop

cynic - 06 Jul 2015 18:58 - 18067 of 21973

banked at 17,642 as can't be arsed to sit and watch and some sort of support (resistance if you like) seems to be coming into play

deltazero - 06 Jul 2015 22:16 - 18068 of 21973

good stuff cynic - as we all know best not to be too greedy - a bird in the hand......... and all that jazz!

cynic - 06 Jul 2015 22:24 - 18069 of 21973

i've certainly had a good run recently, and both the bank manager and myself are very happy :-)

Claret Dragon - 07 Jul 2015 09:51 - 18070 of 21973

FTSE 100 gone down again after what looked like it was going to be a positive start.

cynic - 07 Jul 2015 14:47 - 18071 of 21973

DOW heading back to 17,600, at which point a long dabble could be profitable

Claret Dragon - 07 Jul 2015 15:19 - 18072 of 21973

Another fine mess

deltazero - 07 Jul 2015 15:26 - 18073 of 21973

YUM :-)
gla

Claret Dragon - 07 Jul 2015 15:42 - 18074 of 21973

17450 might hold?

deltazero - 07 Jul 2015 15:57 - 18075 of 21973

ha ha latest ;

Greece has submitted "no concrete proposals" for a new bailout, at a key meeting of eurozone finance ministers, Malta's PM says.

cynic - 07 Jul 2015 16:02 - 18076 of 21973

glad i was not tempted :-)

deltazero - 07 Jul 2015 16:12 - 18081 of 21973

what a great shame for that stinking eu gravy train:

'Joseph Muscat tweeted that this "doesn't help this evening's eurozone leaders' meeting" in Brussels.'

but very good for us ;

jimmy b - 07 Jul 2015 16:13 - 18082 of 21973

Can't wait until we are out of it ..

cynic - 07 Jul 2015 16:15 - 18083 of 21973

deltazero - 07 Jul 2015 16:19 - 18084 of 21973
