THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Ahoj,

As you say, our government is proud of that, IE giving our money way.
Yet when it comes to their money, I wonder how many voters know that the HMRC have a dedicated section that deals with Taxes and Expenses paid by our Honourable (sic) members of Parliament and that those members have far more generous rules and regulations that the rest of us, especially where expenses are concerned.
Of course at DC is always ready to state, 'We are all in this together'.
Of course the other parties are just as bad.

Those who believe that the UK governments are not corrupt, are living in dream land.
I admit our governments are nowhere near as corrupt as many countries, but they are corrupt all the same.
Perhaps a good old fashioned revolution is called for.

Anyone know where a good second hand Guillotine can be found.

Plenty here Greek! :-)

greekman - 30 Aug 2012 14:14 - 18076 of 81564

Hi Skinny,

Lol.

Not big enough as the one I would want is one that could do several heads at the same time.
After all, the government is 'on an efficiency drive'.

Cuts, I'd give them bloody cuts!

Stan - 30 Aug 2012 14:43 - 18077 of 81564

So the question is why do you lot still keep on voting for these party's then?

greekman - 30 Aug 2012 15:20 - 18078 of 81564

I voted Conservative last time, but only because I wanted the Labour shower out.
I thought that no party could be as bad, but this coalition of 'all talk no action' is allowing things to plod along in the previous governments fashion.
It's a sad state of affairs when we have to vote by process of who is going to be the worse for the country instead of who is going to be the best.

I know many say that if you don't vote, its a vote wasted, but I can no longer bring myself to vote for who I judge to be the least worse party.

I would vote UKIP but as yet they do not field a candidate in my area.
I'm not saying they would be less corrupt than the others, but at least their main policy commitment is to get us out of this EU club of even bigger corrupt officials.

Stan, it's not the voters who need to change, the democratic process is fine, but until a government in waiting of whatever persuasion is forced to uphold their election promises, then unfortunately we will get more of the same. It seems to matter not one jolt to the elected MP's that having been voted in, it is then alright to renege on their promises. Electioneering is just a Liar's Charter.

Stan, you've chosen these guys so don't complain. You made the wrong decision! Next time be careful & don't follow the newspapers ...

Cameron and Osborn can still change their mind, but do they?!

skinny - 30 Aug 2012 16:43 - 18081 of 81564

What a crazy world we live in!

Gordon Dyche: Jail for Llyn Clywedog crash that killed family

A driver has been jailed for four years for causing death by careless driving in a crash that killed a family.

aldwickk - 30 Aug 2012 18:31 - 18082 of 81564

What's crazy about it ? maybe if he had pleaded guilty it wouldn't have been 4 years.

The only thing that was crazy was his driving

ps sorry skinny, did you think he should have got less or more ?

skinny - 30 Aug 2012 20:42 - 18083 of 81564

More I'm sorry to say!

aldwickk - 31 Aug 2012 07:21 - 18084 of 81564

Reading his past driving convictions he had more then his share of chances , he should never have been free to drive.

skinny - 31 Aug 2012 07:26 - 18085 of 81564

He will be free at the age of 28, having decimated a family forever.

TANKER - 31 Aug 2012 09:23 - 18086 of 81564

ahoj - 31 Aug 2012 15:48 - 18090 of 81564

Strange price movements, AMD was 3.69, moved to 3.99 and changed to phone only trade for three minutes, then back to the same levels.

Has anyone else noticed such movement?

TANKER - 31 Aug 2012 15:53 - 18091 of 81564

england if on the scrap heap .scotland should leave and go solo and I will then move to scotland who will be for people in scotland not the rest of the world looking for free hand outs
