hewittalan6,

Alan,
Great post 18075, Fortune flavors the brave and all that.

Also if we look at many great inventions that have eventually made vast amounts of money, we find that either they struggled to get any sort of backing or had to go to the States for initial finance.
As to Directors not buying (Haystacks question) being devils advocate here but although not in a closed period, if they are aware of an imminent deal, they would be taking a very high risk re dealing due to pre knowledge. Just a counter opinion.

bosley - 29 Jul 2006 17:54 - 18088 of 27111

alan, i wouldn't say i was a chartist, it's just something i am learning about at the moment. what i have seen, though, is how often the charts are right. not every time and as i said before, traders that i have spoken to do not expect the charts to be always right.
oblo, the two charts that i posted show a golden cross, this is usually an indicator of a bull run, and a dead cross, usually an indicator of a bear run. both signals were correct. there are also many examples where the same signals were incorrect. you pays yer money ,etc, etc ........ it's just something i am finding interesting and hopefully, i can use it to make some money, which is the reason why we play this game. to close your mind and blinker yourself to something that could be a help in increasing your profit isn't really the wisest move to make.
alan, you're absolutely right about why i bought in originally. i sold to take advantage of the sp drop as the tax year changes. i stand by what i said, seo looks a different company once you are no longer a shareholder. it really does. talking to someone the other night i said i got very lucky selling when i did because i know i would still be holding now, talking about how nothing has changed, don't panic everything is ok. everything isn't ok or the sp wouldn't be where it is now.

This may be completely irrelevant, and nothing at all to do with SEO, but Asda have a major conference this week in Harrogate.
My cricketing buddy describes it as a suppliers / buyers event. Necessarily vague about it, he made no mention of the conference including operational or store management staff. unfortunately he is enigmatic in the extreme and if it were not for the fact that it has made him unavailable for selection for our next game he would probably not have mentioned it at all.
Probably nothing, but I would love to see the presentation notes.
BTW. WM have apparantly sold their German interests. i didn't know that!!

Hi Al, which newspaper was that in. Many thanks

Oilywag - 30 Jul 2006 18:24 - 18093 of 27111

Evening all

Just received an e-mail from PM1 that Stanelco are co-hosting the Sustainable Packaging Forum with Tetrapack in St Paul Minnesota 26th-28th September.

I notice that Walmart's Tyler Elm Senior Director, Corporate Strategy and Business Sustainability is delivering one of the key note addresses "Responsibile Leadership on Sustainability and Sustainable Packaging Strategies."

The other is by Joanne Sonenshine, International Economist, Office of the Department of Trade Policy Analysis, US Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration on "How the US Department of Commerce is promoting Sustainable Production Goals & Objectives".

If some of the cash raised in June is being spent on events like this, I have no objection, as it does help to promote our products.

And I know that this has been said before, but let hope that this leads to some hard contracts soon after the event.

The oily one

hewittalan6 - 30 Jul 2006 19:43 - 18094 of 27111

Evening all.
The newspaper was "The Yorkshire Post" and the tipsters are www.share.com, though I am not a member and the site was down earlier when i tried to find out more.
Welcome back, Driver.

cynic - 30 Jul 2006 20:20 - 18095 of 27111

sorry guys, but is it not time to bail out and put "the remains" somewhere that has more future?

hewittalan6 - 30 Jul 2006 20:34 - 18096 of 27111

No

cynic - 30 Jul 2006 20:58 - 18097 of 27111

must be truly determined to lose the last farthing

hewittalan6 - 30 Jul 2006 21:19 - 18098 of 27111

No.
Just you aint got the smallest clue as to my strategy, cost, research or any other thing about my investments.
You made sweeping statements based on your opinion (such as "the remains"), and your own view of the future. It is your opinion, you own it and have every right to air it. I respect that right.
I have every right to answer the question, as I just did. I have every right to choose whether or not to share the reasoning with everyone else, as I have done in the past.
Lose the last farthing? I think not. My opinion. Please show it the respect I have shown yours. Have I lost money? Only if i choose to sell. Would I compound those losses by selling and then buying back later? Probably. Is there somewhere I can gaurantee has more future? No. Did I buy this stock on the basis of its value for July 2006? Certainly not, read the posts from 18 months ago. Do I urge others to follow my lead? No. Have I ever presumed that I can judge other peoples stockpicking without the faintest knowledge of their total position regarding finances, taxation, lifestyle, circumstances and goals? No.
Do I think SEO has a fairly bright future? Yes. Reasons? Some are in the last 2 years posts, others are held dearly to my heart.
if you don't like the stock, fine, but you asked a question and got the answer. if you don't like the answers, don't ask the questions.

This share as driven you over the edge, you have lost the plot.

cynic - 30 Jul 2006 22:01 - 18101 of 27111

why should i be upset? ..... your opinion; your money ..... glad SEO has none of mine; have found plenty of other ways to lose it

Oilywag - 30 Jul 2006 22:21 - 18102 of 27111

Explain your post 18100 please.

aldwickk - 30 Jul 2006 22:41 - 18103 of 27111

Oilywag,

Anybody who writes,

'' Reasons? Some are in the last 2 years posts, others are held dearly to my heart.''

Has fallen in love with the share and as lost all resason in making a detached investment decision.

hewittalan6 - 30 Jul 2006 23:39 - 18104 of 27111

Dearly to my heart would read as "confidential" to any but a one line accident chaser who appears when the going is tough and disappears again just as quickly.
the sheer arrogance of people, who say nowt till a share is on a downtrend and then show up to tell the world how wrong they were is mindnumbing.
I fall in love with an investment strategy that has served me very well for a number of years. It is based on blind ignorance of charting and balance sheets , a nodding acquaintance with company financial law and a better than evens ratio of spotting a winning business idea. Not brilliant. Not earth shattering. it loses me money on some stock. Any method does.
The only thing that really gets my goat is those who always know best, but only after. Beware the buffoon who drives away serious investors and contributors through his lack of charm, witless postings and offensive insults. If I refer to Tony and captain Mainwaring, one poster will know i know his history of being an arse who disrupts for the sheer fun of it and has nothing worthwhile to add to any debate.
There are those with a negative veiwpoint whom I respect greatly on these boards (Bos, Andy et al) and then there are those whose chosen aim in life is to try and wind everyone up by trying to be clever after the event.
Indeed I can think of one or two contributors who will scratch up enough grey matter shortly to finally predict the winner of the 2006 world cup. A particular one will probably get that wrong as well.

I.am holding out for two reasons . down 48.000GR been in two years and not worth selling . but after a placment of3.5mil at 8.5 only afew weeks back .1/ did seo lie there teeth out to get the cash OR 2/ dose the buyer know alot more than we do and there investment is totaly safe with a big profiton deals comeing very soon or 3/ are they out of there f........mind with there share holders money. Ihope and holding out for NO2 ALL THE BEST WE NEED SOME DEALS AND LUCK

Telling people to sell months ago is not after the event, and is worthwhile , its you that as lost money on this share not me. TonyWatts invested a large amount in these he took profits on the way up to 30p and cut his loses when things started to look not right, like i did. just admit it you have acted like a compleat novice by holding on to these shares.
