rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.
for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ
for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

cynic 18116 - how can you possibly say china is 'unbelievably corrupt and the accounting (non) standards so farcical' just dont get it LOL :-D
the other problem with china is that a large proportion of investment is done by small investors who change with the wind and believe almost any rumour they hear - very unstable - then with global problems starting to bite although they / china soared in recent times may well in fact be hit hardest of all - what goes up must........................ ;

sorry to hear it but with a weekly dow range around 17800 - 17500 and a higher than norm avg caution needed of course just need to get on the right side so just bad luck - had a little nibble at the dax again this evening and made a few more shillings ; ftse may likely follow dax level movement tomorrow perhaps as dax seems to be hitting the trends earlier but that could change in an instant of course
i hope that was a small omelette in this case!
