NML is due its interrim results now, last year it was the 28th of this month.
They are setting up a new site to explore/research/analyse and all the equipment to do this should be on site now, and drilling should start soon, all this extra news should be covered in the interims.
does anyone have any further positive views on this company ??

Takahe,
I now see that The Times has published an article today saying the placing may have failed!
Maybe my first opinion was correct after all?
How can this be if the shares were "issued to the market on Dec 14th" ?
The Times may be wrong of course, I guess we will know for sure on Monday?
I am pasting the article posted over the road for information here, plaudits to the poster 'Cimbom' BTW.
Suspension for New Millennium shares after 5m fundraising fails
By Nick Hasell
Smaller capitalisation shares
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,175-1974407,00.html
ONE of AIMs more speculative mining ventures had its shares suspended yesterday after being unable to complete a 5 million fundraising.
Cash-strapped New Millennium Resources, an Australian-based diamond explorer with licences in Angola and Greenland, said last month that it had secured backing for the fundraising, entailing the issue of 1 billion new shares at p. The funds were to be used to acquire and explore a diamond concession in Angola, with the new stock due to begin trading on December 12.
That deadline passed, but confirmation that the refinancing had gone awry came only yesterday, when the company, whose shares had slipped 0.03p to 0.82p, requested suspension pending clarification over the placing. The FTSE 250 rose 17.2 points to 8,915.5.

Personally, I think that Hasell may not have checked his facts:
- 21 Dec'05 - 12:36 - 3870 of 4078
The 1 billion shares started trading on 14 December. The dilution has already happened. See RNS below, though note that I have cut out the non-relevant bits as this is a list of all shares admitted that day from all companies.

Another NML holder has suggested this to me:
The Co correctly reported it's placing but it would seem that the buyer may not have reported it's holding to the company. The UK regulator cannot act against the buyer if they are not in their jurisdiction,eg. if they are not domiciled in this country, other than to suspend the market in NML until they comply. This action obviously encourages the buyer to comply.
If there are negotiations going on, there may have been a need for secrecy .
Only a suggestion...

British bulls 6/1/06
New Millenium Resources NL
Daily Commentary
Our system posted a SELL CONFIRMED today. The previous BUY recommendation that was confirmed was made on 19.12.2005 (20) days ago, when the stock price was 0.8800. Since then NML has fallen -5.68% .
Were you eager to sell your shares? Without doubt, it was the right time to do so. Maybe, you were even courageous enough for a short sale. If you have done so, it is even better.
If not and you still have shares, it is not very late. The next session will give you the opportunity to sell them at a suitable price.

The shares can all have been admitted to trading without the proposed buyer(s) having acquired them - they remain issued, admitted, but unpaid for. Dangerous to try to fit the facts to "normal" constructs by ignoring some of them, when the facts may all be true and not mutually exclusive - if worrying.
As ever, total incompetence by the company and its officer abounds.

Andy - why would there have to be an RNS before positive news? The share is suspended, so price-sensitive news does not matter.
Andy

bundu,
That would be the RNS required to unsuspend the share, that is if I'm correct in thinking it's the lack of notification from the placing that has caused the suspension in the first place!
They will have to RNS the new large holders, before the suspension is lifted IMO.

Well...after a bit of trouble, I tracked down Nick Hasell and had a chat. Guess what? He doesn't know for sure that the placing failed at all! He said he had found a bit of an information vacuum because he hadn't been able to get a hold of Gary Middleton or Healy and he had assumed that the placing had failed

takahe,
If that's true then he should hang his head in shame!
I at least expected him to have had a source, not to make a wrong assumption.
NO RNS today, so I expect they are thrying to collate the figures from the placing.

Andy..'if it's true'? ....here is his email and you can verify what I have said...

The placing may be one buyer, for all we know so far.
I emailed the article and my conversation with Hasell to SH and got a polite email of thanks so he knows about the article.
