Hello 8 Ball, nice to see you again. No, not found the house yet. I'm still concentrating on building up my portfolio in order to widen my scope a bit. Made some definite decisions though, place must be quiet and close to the sea. Apart from that, the world is my oyster. Still got a few years to work yet.

How are you these days?

8 Ball - 09 Aug 2003 00:46 - 1828 of 23498

Quite busy at present socs.

Not doing any trading at the moment, just keeping an eye on holdings at present.
Looking to take profits as they come.

Investment club portfolio has improved from -28% to -2% in the last few months
We have taken a few profits, and are holding good profits on both Burtonwood (40%)and Wynnstay group(30%).

I do pop in for a read now and again.

Socrates - 09 Aug 2003 09:00 - 1829 of 23498

8 Ball, nicely done. But when you pop in, just say hello, even if you don't stay. It's nice to know people are around.

Morning

Socrates - 09 Aug 2003 12:13 - 1831 of 23498

Not now it isn't. Good-day Jeff.

little woman - 09 Aug 2003 13:12 - 1832 of 23498

Afternoon - I need to go and do some food shopping or I'm not going to eat next week! I'm really not in the mood - I hate shopping.

jeffmack - 09 Aug 2003 16:38 - 1833 of 23498

Little Woman
Order it on the internet from Tesco or Sainsburys

Socrates - 09 Aug 2003 17:40 - 1834 of 23498

Jeff
That's not a bad idea, but too late. Been out trolley racing round Tesco's but it was quite quiet for a Saturday. Thank the Lord for cars with air conditioning.

As I sit and write it is 85F here in this bit of Cheltenham. Probably other parts are 85F too. It's just too hot to do anything although I suppose a glass of chilled bubbly might be what the doctor ordered.

Anyone here into SCTN?

little willie - 09 Aug 2003 19:31 - 1835 of 23498

Pouring with rain here in South Africa and boy, do I mean pouring; no chance of a braii so we've been watching a movie [crap] and now its back to my book for me...night all.

jeffmack - 09 Aug 2003 20:23 - 1836 of 23498

should have stayed in UK, glorious

Socrates - 09 Aug 2003 20:42 - 1837 of 23498

It's too darned hot. (Where have I heard that before)? I think I may have to divest myself of some more attire, there's not much left so I hope none of the ladies arrives suddenly or I may be covered with embarassment.

This_is_me - 09 Aug 2003 23:41 - 1838 of 23498

Me problem is trying to stop girls tearing Me clothes off!!

little woman - 10 Aug 2003 10:34 - 1839 of 23498

Jeffmack - doesn't that mean I have to hang around for the delivery? I don't have a "her indoors" to do it for me!

What is it about waiting for someone to turn up - I don't know about anyone else, but it's always when I need to be somewhere else - on the golf course, out riding, mountain biking, walking, jogging, at a committee meeting, visiting family or friends, working at one of my 3 part-time jobs etc. etc.

little woman - 10 Aug 2003 10:41 - 1840 of 23498

t i m - you've not put anything on your user settings - are you shy? (or just hopeful!)

2 cold showers a day, will help cool you all down! This morning feels even hotter! I have a nice white cotten dress (ironically for it's for a man!) I boughtin Egypt which covers everything and is really cooling!!!!!!!!!!!!!

jgp212 - 10 Aug 2003 11:38 - 1841 of 23498

Socrates - 10 Aug 2003 11:43 - 1842 of 23498

How do you like my sombrero?

Socco

jeffmack - 10 Aug 2003 11:54 - 1843 of 23498

V. Nice Socs, now cover up your gonads

Socrates - 10 Aug 2003 12:09 - 1844 of 23498

OK Jeff, no sooner said than done. There was a severe risk of getting them sunburned which doesn't bear thinking about. That's why I covered them with Factor 1 million sunblocker, chocolate sauce to you.

Not so hot here today, only 79F at present, it was 84F by this time yesterday. Earlier we had a short sharp crash bang wallop session, I quite like storms usually but I wasn't struck by this one!

jeffmack - 10 Aug 2003 17:26 - 1845 of 23498

Cheltenham lost its record then Socs

little woman - 10 Aug 2003 17:35 - 1846 of 23498

It's 88F indoors at the moment! Made some cherry & orange icecream yesterday, supposed to make mango & lemon today, but I haven't the energy - only enough to eat it... maybe in a day or two.....
