THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

Ahoj,

Blair, for me, has always been a disaster zone.

-----------

Unfortunately as it maybe, I think all views have the right to be vented.

Sometimes, I wish they were not. (Even, views such as Tankers and Aldwick's, Gorse, etc.)

Ventilation, may be a form of safety valve, if the responses are not incited to be physical violence.

PS, what are the differences between Topless and Headless?

Will miss the Keynes one unfortunately Fred, Sorry but how anyone can tolerate Andrew Neil who was Murdoch's hatchet tool is beyond me, especially with the events of the last year with the telephone hacking and only last week the Hillsborough atrocities.

skinny - 17 Sep 2012 11:22 - 18277 of 81564

Hard to take him seriously with that wicker work stuck on his head - having said that, I've never liked him - too much 'self worth'.

Stan - 17 Sep 2012 11:26 - 18278 of 81564

Indeed Skinny, he has no credibility IMHO.

ahoj - 17 Sep 2012 11:36 - 18279 of 81564

They should get ride of Tony Blair.

I think Hillary Clinton can do very well. She has a better view of the Middle East - ALSO Arabs like to deal with ladies.

G20 death: PC Simon Harwood accepts 'discrediting' Met

An officer cleared of killing Ian Tomlinson at London's G20 protests has accepted his actions brought discredit to the Met, amounting to gross misconduct, a hearing has been told.

But PC Simon Harwood has not accepted his behaviour contributed to the death of Mr Tomlinson in April 2009.

An inquest in May said Mr Tomlinson had been unlawfully killed.

PC Harwood, 45, of south London, was later acquitted of manslaughter, which he had denied.

Tuesday's hearing was told PC Harwood, who is currently suspended, has twice offered to resign from the Met over the incident. But an officer who is suspended can only leave the force with the approval of the deputy commissioner.

Mr Tomlinson was hit with a baton and pushed to the ground before dying minutes later.

Connections with Hillsborough anyone?

Fred1new - 17 Sep 2012 14:05 - 18282 of 81564

Andrew Neil when he isn't trying to be "funny" can be a very penetrating interviewer.

I must admit that I also find him irritating at times.

Is Hilary a lady?

Fred1new - 17 Sep 2012 14:16 - 18283 of 81564

Interesting to watch the present political jiggery-pokery.

The coalition seems to have given up making U-turn policies turns, by making bold statements and then kicking decision making into the long grass. That is until after the next election.

Seems, that they are going to dither while the UK burns!

Even if they were directors of a bank they would have been asked to resign.

Copied from elsewhere - Nigel Farage: A new EU powergrab has been launched

But you won’t hear anything about it from the BBC or Westminster politicians

We are still not having a proper debate in the UK about our relationship with the EU. It suits our political class to pretend that all things EU are ‘over there’ and need not worry us.

Stan - 17 Sep 2012 14:55 - 18285 of 81564

"penetrating"? you mean at digging his own reprotational grave Fred? -):

Think he's just a 2 faced slimy git personally who has no credibility whatsoever, and why we are paying his wages through the BBC I don't know, just rubs salt into the wound IMHO.

TANKER - 17 Sep 2012 17:19 - 18286 of 81564

The leader of Hezbollah made a rare public appearance Monday at a rally in Beirut, calling for sustained protests against an anti-Islam film that already has provoked a week of unrest in Muslim countries worldwide.

Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah has rarely been seen in public since his Shiite Muslim group battled Israel in a month-long war in 2006, fearing Israeli assassination. Since then, he has communicated with his followers and gives news conference mostly via satellite link.

On Monday, Nasrallah spoke for about 15 minutes before tens of thousands of cheering supporters, many of them with green and yellow headbands around their foreheads — the colors of Hezbollah — and the words "at your service God's prophet" written on them.
this man is evil and just a terrorist who hides behind children.

TANKER - 17 Sep 2012 17:25 - 18287 of 81564

Tony Blair saying something that i agree with for a change.

The violent reaction to an anti-Islamic film has been "absurd", Tony Blair has said.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday morning, the former prime minister said no one should take the film, Innocence of Muslims, seriously. "It's a laughable piece of film work," he said.

"The good news there is plenty of people who agree this reaction is absurd," Blair, who serves as a Middle East peace envoy, said.

Demonstrations have been held outside Western embassies across the Middle East and North Africa in reaction to the film.

“I think what we shouldn’t do is lose sight of what the real issue is, and the real issue is how do people actually think it is justified to react in a way that ends up in innocent people being killed," Blair said.

Fred1new - 17 Sep 2012 19:47 - 18290 of 81564

Stan.

What do you mean by " reprotational".

I tried looking it up.

The only translation I found was "nice fellow".

I will have to have a private chat with you.

How about at that after fish soup and a Rosemary chicken.

I think there is still some wine in the van.

Will phone you within the week.

Reprotational.. Thought that might raise a query-): it's a pathetic attempt to express a meaning using a word that you won't find in the dictionary -):

Yes looking forward to our meet, although my attendance at Burnley matches over the next 14 days will have to take priority.
