stockbunny - 11 Nov 2004 14:54 - 18275 of 23498

Just ordered my own Christmas present (grin) well why not??
Live Aid 4 disc DVD collection - 27.99 from Amazon for anyone
interested and they seem to have plenty of stock.

Remember it well, sitting (in happier days) with my ex-husband
munching our way through a lot of french bread and Philadelphia
cheese, various snacks and crisps and a fair bit of red wine,
watching for hours the various performances...ahh it was a memorable
day for those of us who are now sadly a bit older, but at the time
didn't have a video to record it, so finally a chance to see it all
again.....minus the ex-husband of course!!
;>)

Priscilla - 11 Nov 2004 14:54 - 18276 of 23498

Oh, THANK YOU Bunny! (Gulp!)

Edit: Hey! I've got one of those too! (Ex-husband, that is.) I'd forgotten all about him. But there again, he promised to 'never forget me' either!

When live aid was being broadcast I was sitting in the car at the Isle of Wight car ferry returning from holiday. Everyone had the music blaring from the car radio's and were singing along.

This_is_me - 11 Nov 2004 15:17 - 18281 of 23498

Interesting puzzle for the great Sir Alex and the skinny rear end. What kind of team do you put out for the next pizza fight?

stockbunny - 11 Nov 2004 15:22 - 18282 of 23498

Yeah..it's a day that most of us can remember and also remember where
we were and how we spent the day etc - ahh..good days Jeff, good days!
Just checked and Amazon are 2 under Virgin on price, so a good deal!!
Now I can really rub it in with the lads about how our bands used to
be able to sing/play live and would eat the ones today for breakfast!!

My Ex was returning to his youth when we spilt up complete with the
younger bit of 'fluff' - so I guess you could say he started it and
I finished it, in a manner of speaking.
:>)
Who wants another glass of cab Sauv? Priscilla..??

Jules - 11 Nov 2004 15:47 - 18288 of 23498

Hil this one is for you as you love the old footie:-)

The French News Agency reports that Yasser Arafat has died. He is now lying in state wearing a Newcastle shirt, Glasgow Rangers shorts and Lazio socks. Apparently his last wish was to be buried in the Gazza strip

Priscilla - 11 Nov 2004 16:02 - 18289 of 23498

That would be lovely, thanks Bun!

Funny, I haven't thought about my ex for a minor ice age.. (which is about as old as the creature he had been seeing during our brief time together). I made a 'lucky guess' at our first Christmas together and I was gone by Boxing Day. My reasoning was simple. He was old enough to know right from wrong and if he couldn't choose between us, I could!

About ten years ago I saw him coming towards me along Regent Street and he walked straight past - without even recognizing me when I was close enough to touch him! I was jubilant!! His shirt buttons were straining to keep in the blubber and he was doing that bloke thing of pretending he could still fit into those trousers by wearing them below the beer belly he now had!

She's welcome to him.

stockbunny - 11 Nov 2004 16:13 - 18290 of 23498

Priscilla,
You know it's really odd - but my Ex has also put on a hell of a lot
of stomach since he's been with his new partner too.

He used to care about his appearance but now seems he's not
bothered - silly man, cos with the age gap being very much against him,
he may need to be a little more careful about himself and his 'upkeep'
then he seems to think. Oh well it's his problem....
When we were watching Live-Aid all those years ago, from our sparcely
furnished, extremely mortgage home, she would still
have been playing with her barbie dolls!
(Sorry chaps, it's a girl moan session in progress, it does us good!)
;>)

Its called contentment

Priscilla - 11 Nov 2004 16:20 - 18292 of 23498

No, Jeff. It's called hilarious. At least women buy the next size up. Men just put the belt a notch tighter and think they are cool wearing the same 'hipsters' as their sons! So sad.
