THE TALK TO YOURSELF THREAD. (NOWT)

goldfinger - 09 Jun 2005 12:25

Thought Id start this one going because its rather dead on this board at the moment and I suppose all my usual muckers are either at the Stella tennis event watching Dim Tim (lose again) or at Henly Regatta eating cucumber sandwiches (they wish,...NOT).

Anyway please feel free to just talk to yourself blast away and let it go on any company or subject you wish. Just wish Id thought of this one before.

cheers GF.

back to police cuts .
why have we got these useless C/O on our street they are always shopping .
in the supermarket and when you ask them a question they look at you and pass the buck.

Hays, The majority of the new MPs in H/P are tory. But there is an arrogance of many young MPs.

Not ageist, but would suggest that one should not be an MP before the age of 35.

Is Mitchell going to apologise by making a I-pod? Good PR move. Sorry, Sorry, Sorry!

Just one definition of a PLEB :- one who's inferior intelligence results in them making a complete titface out of themselves in public.

Only one of those involved managed to do that.

Fred1new - 23 Sep 2012 12:06 - 18371 of 81564

Which one?

-------

Use of pleb interested me.

When I went to university over 50 years ago, it was frequently used there as a mocking insult of others.

Didn't seemed to be that offensive at the time, but neither was calling somebody a "silly bugger".

TANK - Pretty obvious (even with your limited intelligence) that if the Police at this present time are having to prioritise response to calls such as BURGLARY that alarm bells should be ringing that not only are they undermanned now, but have been for a number of years. If you are unfortunate enough to have your car stolen or vandalised, be plagued by local yobs defecating in your front garden whatever even assaulted, or mugged you are automatically on a priority list. "An officer will be with you within a week sir" Slight exageration there I admit, but then again no more so than "Oh by the way, when you are released from casualty just pop down the station and we will give you a crime number so you can claim on your insurance"

Resources what resources, in this day and age bearing in mind the above priority issue. Two female officers were sent to a possible report of a burglary. Forget what actually happened (despite the fact that this no mark of a man had been reported as being seen in the area and was being helped by the local misunderstood.) Just exactly how would those two ladies have handled the situation if the burglars were still in the process of nicking the family jewels and pissing and shitting on the matrimonial bed (sorry to be course but lets have a sense of reality here.). Contrary to popular belief the burglar or burglars would not have instantly thrown up there arms and shouted "It's a fair cop guv, cuff me immediately and show me to your car"
I could prattle on forever, not good for my blood pressure. Bottom line is time the public realised just how serious the situation is and attempt to support the Police or at least understand the predicament they are in. Rant over :O)

Talking of men on bikes, I hope you all wear your cycling helmets when going out on your bikes. My brother was smashed into from behind the police believe between 50mph - 60mph by a BLIND (as thats all he can be as he was on a straight road) driver.
The helmet does not look a pretty sight crumpled and smashed in but has saved his life. Hes been in hospital for a week with a cracked leg as well as a sewn up back but should make a full recovery and get back to work before the new year.
Very easy not to go out with one, but he is still here due to his.

TANKER - 23 Sep 2012 13:27 - 18374 of 81564

C C if you had read my post you would have noticed I did not agree with the cuts to bring in more useless C/O who have no power we need a strong police force .
and I have e mailed the met over the sacking of a officer who was a bit rough with a person when the riots where going on it was a bit unfortunate it was him.
these things happen but the police need strong men like him and we must expect
innocent people sometimes get hurt but they save a lot more innocent people than they hurt.

my question is this why did they report this to the reporter in minutes .
in all companys you report it to your boss to take acction .
in my view this officer broke the rules .why did he not do that .
and when are the police officers that sold info to the press going to be
charged with corruption the reports have been charged for a officer to take cash is a scandal .

Chris Carson - 23 Sep 2012 13:58 - 18375 of 81564

Haystack - 23 Sep 2012 14:21 - 18377 of 81564

Being called a pleb is not a big deal. It derives from plebian. A plebian is just a commoner. In ancient Rome there were the Patricians (the ruling class) and the plebians (the rest). We still have the word - plebicite meaning a vote of the population.

Stan - 23 Sep 2012 14:24 - 18378 of 81564

But when a fairly high ranking "Con " Party/Government member utters it .. It speaks for itself.

Chris Carson - 23 Sep 2012 14:28 - 18379 of 81564

Haystack - Fabulous, many thanks for that 'nugget' of info. Did you google that yourself or kidnap a 3 year old to do it for you?

Fred1new - 23 Sep 2012 16:44 - 18380 of 81564

Hays,

The remark made sounds like the arrogance of youth.

Does that mean he hasn't groan up and/or does it mean he is too immature for his government role?

(apol grown)

Forgot, he fits in nicely with the present Cabinet. Bring back Norm he will sort it out!

Fred1new - 23 Sep 2012 16:46 - 18381 of 81564

Apology for any having nightmares to-night.

Fred1new - 23 Sep 2012 16:47 - 18382 of 81564

Fred1new - 23 Sep 2012 16:48 - 18383 of 81564

In its own way it is a beautiful image of himself. 8-)

TANKER - 23 Sep 2012 17:42 - 18384 of 81564

some one paying 6% of there pay on 250 aweek and the company put in 6% plus 12 tax will after 30 years at todays values with friends provident could get around £30 pounds aweek . just taking them out of getting benefits . plus they would pay tax on this so would be worse off than some one who pays out nothing.
I am retired so it does not afect me . but it worthless putting money in to a PENSION WITH FREINDS LIFE. I have done the figures out of there figures not mine.

Haystack - 23 Sep 2012 18:26 - 18385 of 81564

It is all of no importance whatsoever.

Stan - 23 Sep 2012 18:36 - 18386 of 81564
