Jeffmack - doesn't that mean I have to hang around for the delivery? I don't have a "her indoors" to do it for me!

What is it about waiting for someone to turn up - I don't know about anyone else, but it's always when I need to be somewhere else - on the golf course, out riding, mountain biking, walking, jogging, at a committee meeting, visiting family or friends, working at one of my 3 part-time jobs etc. etc.

V. Nice Socs, now cover up your gonads

Socrates - 10 Aug 2003 12:09 - 1844 of 23498

OK Jeff, no sooner said than done. There was a severe risk of getting them sunburned which doesn't bear thinking about. That's why I covered them with Factor 1 million sunblocker, chocolate sauce to you.

Not so hot here today, only 79F at present, it was 84F by this time yesterday. Earlier we had a short sharp crash bang wallop session, I quite like storms usually but I wasn't struck by this one!

It's 88F indoors at the moment! Made some cherry & orange icecream yesterday, supposed to make mango & lemon today, but I haven't the energy - only enough to eat it... maybe in a day or two.....

Little woman

I have not put anything on Me user settings since Me wouldn't want to distract the girls from the serious discussions on this thread!

It managed just above 90F in our kitchen this afternoon, most of which was spent in a cooking in the sun. I'm not sure what the children did, but they don't seem to have wrecked anything!

jgp212 - 10 Aug 2003 20:07 - 1850 of 23498

Kids wreck everything!!
Mine start schooo in four weeks time!!

Can't wait!!

Bliss awaits!

Wow! It's been busy in here over the weekend. Why haven't you all been out on the Tea Rooms rooftoom garden doing your white bits in the sun and skinny dipping in the hot tub? I've been really quiet lonely up there on my own this weekend. At least there was plenty to eat ......... I can particularly recommend littlewillie's pork sausage on the BBQ!

Jeffmack,

Was that Mrs Mack by the stile in Devon? J's very good with websites, btw. Don't hesitate to e-mail me if you're stuck on anything.

Socs,

How's your mice?

Hilary
Yes that was Mrs Mack. Actually I do need some help. How do I restrict access to some pages and what are the options for restricting pages, password, I/P address.

Ta

hilary - 11 Aug 2003 10:22 - 1857 of 23498

Jeff,

What will the pages contain and who are you trying to stop viewing them? If it's simply some private stuff just for close family and friends, you can put it into an obscure directory without any links to it and then you'll be the only person who knows that it's there. You can even create an offputting index page like this one if you wish and hide your goodies in a file behind that, but that's unnecessary because Pipex webspace generates a bland teasing index page automatically to prevent people nosing around directories.

I'd noticed that you were having problems with your Pipex space and Frontpage. Basically, Pipex will only work with Frontpage 98 ........ 2k is a non-starter! Even then, FP98 will only work if you turn Norton Firewall off. Once you've got past those hurdles, it's a piece of cake.

If you really want to go the password route, there are some handy scripts here.

Let me know if there's anything else.

jeffmack - 11 Aug 2003 11:02 - 1858 of 23498

Thanks Hil
I will take a look. I know my site is very very basic but its fun adding and changing things, when I have time.
