It's right at the bottom, you can make out "Stanelco readies for restructure" and something else?? looks like Revamps rolls??

What matters here is how many and from what part of the business they were removed. If it is a load of Greenseal engineers/fitters then yes we should worry. If it is those involved in the older parts of the business like fibreoptics or other non Greenseal critical roles then it should be good news. Could it be a move to close down the older side of the businesses totally? It could also have been a pre-condition of any future funding for the next stage of development and may have been enforced by an institution or bank. Why should they pour more money in to keep non Greenseal / Starpol activities going.

Although it appears negative at 1st sight we need to see the detail and more importantly have a proper update on Greenseal. Normally you would get this sort of news following some really bad news about the failure of a major project or withdrawal of a product from market. Maybe as usual SEO's shite management are doing it back to front as usual and the news that Greenseal is no longer being progressed will follow shortly. Lets hope not.

Can anyone remember if there was an RNS released when Martin Wagner and Terry Robins officially joined SEO?

If so, then there should be an RNS announcing the departure of Terry Robins, that is unless the company has developed a policy of only trumpeting what they think is good news and withholding that which might be unpalable to shareholders - including the institutions.

Robbins wasn't COO anyway; that's Martin Wagner's role. Think MW has some questions to answer since the PR of the company and its progress has not been good on his watch. Also Howard White hasn't exactly been 'Salesman of the Year' material. Met MW at the AGM and thought he was a bit full of himself - that's OK if you can produce the goods. He hasn't, and it is not as if he has had too little time. I continue to hold but not that willingly.

Had a look at the Annual Report and Howard White is the MD, Martin Wagner is CEO, and Terry Robins is listed as COO.

Funny that, in most companies the MD is effectively the CEO, but then I'm only a yoga teacher, what do I know?

Been trying to be positive about todays news, but it looks a bit grim.
The only thing is;
1) We do not know the exact story. i have no doubt at all that it is genuine, and I accept the posts at face value.
2) Why?
Big question that. They got rid of a director soem time ago (can't remember who), and that was done because his stage of the development of SEO was over. What if they have lost the staff that were involved in R&D of Greenseal, and marketing of it to Asda. I am sure that a large organisation would redeploy them, but SEO are small and probably unable to do that. What if they have lost staff that were very good at getting them to this point to replcae them with staff that are more skilled at moving them on again.
What if they have lost the staff they blame for the poor PR and trial delays / lack of progress? We have been asking for that for months!!
Not saying that any of this is the case. just playing devils advocate. Devils Advocaat is more my style though.

Just musing over what Martin Wagner said at the AGM about being a little naive with regard to the amount of time it would take to instal the Greenseal machines.

With the benefit of hindsight, I find that very hard to believe given his experience at ASDA in the food packaging business. If he did not foresee some of the problems associated with the installations then he really is an awful manager, And this man is CEO of Stanelco!!

By the way I am still holding.

What we need is a new man at the top. Now Charles Allen who is leaving ITV in a month's time will be looking for something to do. Pity the company could not afford him! Doesn't matter that he does not know much about packaging; he has superb management skills and a very quick grasp of the issues affecting any business. This is what SEO does not have.

i have it on very good authority that Greensealed packaged foods will be available in Asda from a few weeks from now. The machinary that is packaging them is in its "proving" stage, and more machines will follow, providing it proves okay and subject to feedback.
Don't ask me who the authority is cos I will not tell.
Like it or lump it. i cannot substantiate it. Call me whatever you will. How everyone chooses to view this post makes no difference to me or my holding.

But "proving", this is a new word to describe what is going on with the machinery. How many more variations of the word "testing" is there in "Roget's Thesaurus" for God's sake? If it does not mean testing, what else can it mean? (Haven't bothered to look in Roget's myself - too lazy right now)

All I would like to know is, is the man connected to a packaging firm?

Thats great Alan. I hope that that is the case and I have no reason to question your post-however unless that comes off and income starts flowing from it, there wont be any company called SEO to sell Greenseal!!

I have a strong 'feeling' that finances are worse than most think, and they sacked staff to stay in business. I hold that view firmly. But we can only hope that some contracts do start maturing, which can now happen post the period with ASDA ending.

Like you I'm holding and very few posts affect my decision to hold, buy or sell, but I think the existance of this company is in the balance. The next three months are make or break. Either we're sitting pretty at christmas, or the company will have folded, thats my position at the moment until the income news changes. WHY ELSE HAS THE SP DROPPED TO 4P?

Its not a question of 'we're working with so and so', 'we're developing X', its 'we've sold XXX GS machines and they're paying on monday.' When that happens I'll be convinced that the future is bright.

Alan - you normally play with a straight bat (except when you are actually playing - so I am told!!). Out of 10 - where 10 is the highest - how much credibility do you give your source !

Sorry to press - but as you know I have substantial holding - and have always believed in the products of this company - and have always stated that I hold for the long term.

Am doing a review - do I bale out 'cos this company will never deliver - or bide my time - which at the moment is still my preferred option.

I really wish i could be more specific, I really do.
he is very well connected.
The machine is in its "final proving stage". This appears to be running it for real and looking for signs of potential weakness in its ability to keep going without breakdown or fault.
I can also say, as I understand it, the products will be on the shelves in a very few weeks and that Asda will seek feedback. A second supplier will also be online by then (both are very big names in the produce world) and my information is that several other very big names are interested, but want to watch Asda in action for 3 months before commiting to orders.
That takes us to christmas.
That really is the full extent of what I can say, and I cannot justify it in any way.
BTW. It is a very unusual source for me, and while I trust him implicitly, I cannot vouch for any track record.

RNSs were issued on 4/1/05 and 1/8/05 announcing the appointment of Robbins as Chief Operating Officer and Wagner as Commercial Director respectively. Wagner was renamed Chief Executive in a Boardroom reshuffle announced on 28/11/05.

There is, or was a few minutes ago, a full list of RNSs on the SEO website, via the Investor Relations (sic) link. Interesting reading - for those who do not suffer from Hypertension!

Well if we're at Xmas with no income from these orders, there is going to have to be another generation of money from the market. And even that makes Xmas a long way away.
