Also no headbutting, gouging or biting and may the best man (me!) win.
Looking forward to seeing you all tomorrow. I will be at the clubhouse by about 0815, so suggest everyone else gets there not long after so we can have a chat over a cup of coffee. Eric, will find out today if any food will be available on arrival.

I believe any trade associate should qualify for the prize. No need to make it exclusive to the MAM boards. Primary reason is that MoneyAM are investing in this and I believe we should encourage them. A personal friend should be able to win prizes like nearest the pin and longest drive but not the MoneyAM trophies. Personal view.

Getting all a bit serious guys - we'll be consulting the R&A next.
Surely it's intended as a fun event with some prizes - whoever wins gets the prize - whatever the reason they are playing?

I agree with MG. Anyone who plays shud be eligible for prizes. (Even people who are not single figure handicappers.)

Mg; It also means you can now bring your clients and best mates Sergio and Bernhard.
All: Just a word of caution about MG:
1) Check the dress code for the golf course, he has habit of wearing strange outfits at MoneyAM events
2)Lock up your daughters , don't bring them to the golf course
:-)

Mg Been on the phone th the R&A, they don't mind who enters!
Personally, I am quite happy for anyone to enter and all to be eligble for all the prizes, as long as that is the general feeling. Afterall, it's not quite the Open and is supposed to be a fun day, offering an opportunity for like minded people to chat about both golf and investing.

That's good. Did the R&A say anything about banning little bald gits from attending the event - otherwise we might end up with BS (PGA Retd.) and his new clubs from Aldi. He's decided to take up Golf to meet new and interesting people. They'de clash with my new golfing attire from the Man At Aldi range.

Mg; As it happens I have joined The oxfordshire near Thame. Yet to get a handicap but passed the test to be allowed on the course. The test was simple you join and you can play:-) And what is wrong with my Aldi clubs, got a great deal, rather than buying a range of clubs 1 thro 9, I bought five 9 irons , they all add up to same total in the bag, no golfing bag as Aldi had run out, but using an old Safeway carrier bag to cart them around the course instead. Keep getting lots of looks, I am sure they are just jealous.

PTH - I just need to work out which clients have the required privilages for an invitation to the long awaited event of the world golfing calender the "MAM OPEN" cant wait to see ernie els on the first and his face when i beat him.
I will indeed be bring a couple of clients, Stuart Lane from man being the first confirmed and Geoff Langham from CMC should be next. once i've got the 4 peeps i'll send you a cheque for all, rather than dribs and drabs.
It's upto the organiser, but i think these guys should have a chance of winning "The Open" but if they're winning i think their ball might disappear
mysteriously, i'll leave it upto you PTH.
Also, im surprised that there is not more presure being applied to Mr B to come and join in, if we let him play from the reds that might swing it :)

My own thoughts regarding recent posts are these - Since MAM are sponsoring some half decent prizes then entrants should be BB members plus MAM corporate clients as well, no problemo. We all have a common thread, if that makes any sense?! Also IMO: all particpants should be eligible to compete for prizes as long as their entry fee has been paid like everyone elses and they have a bona fide handicap certificate (which I think we should all have to bring?). But I do think that PTH should have the final say on the matter, being Event Organiser. Sorted.

I was assuming you might bring the Bullboy along with you - or is it that he'd be just a source of total embarrassment. Don't worry, I'm sure we could put the Tesco carrier bag over his head - that would do the trick.
We could probably give him a MoneyAM handicap - say 28 - provided he wore his special chifon number - from the Women at Aldi range. I know for a fact that he buys his thongs from there.

Mg; Don't tempt me!! last Sunday my 13 year old (he plays off 17) challenged me, 5 to the winner, sad to say by the 9th hole I had lost 5 balls and was already 18 up. As luck would have it I managed to feign a serious injury and headed off to the bar. As in all good sporting events, as we never finished the game I argued that it was a draw so did not owe him a penny, sad to say he said next time I would need doctors certificate to wriggle out of paying up.
I reckon this time next year Rodney I will be less embarrasing, I hope, so will take part in the 2006 event as the buggy driver/embarrassing old fart at the back of the field playing in a team of one!

The latest lits of entrants, unfortunately I have received a couple of emails from some possibilities who have confirmed that they are unable to attend. Hwoever Paul Jacobs plus a few MAM clients will be participating, so we will have a sufficient numbers to ensure a great day out.
Still not too late for any others who may be interested. perhaps the recent 'imports' from MAM's competitor may wish to join us?

PTH,
It might help to sway a few posters (who are contemplating an entry right now) if PJ/MAM were to give a hint or two as to some of the prizes to be won? Also worth mentioning that there will be "a few quid" remaining in the pot for some dosh/golfing vouchers up for grabs in the sweep, as well!! :o)

I think you just mentioned it!
Don't know how much dosh will be left over until I have the final numbers, but I should be able to work it out. Now, what did I do with those cheques, and your cash?
Must have bought some RPT shares!!!!!!!

Well done, pth; you're playing a stright bat, I was just going to say, but then I thought about the poor old Bangladeshi's and that it wasn't golf! Els really doesn't qualify because he is already +3. Happy for anyone to win the second prize! Even marcus, despite his illicit practise round and that now full-time professional, peter holden. Aren't you leading the PGA or is that peter lawrie? Maybe a pseudonym.
