<>Desire Petroleum plc (Desire) is a UK company listed on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the North Falkland Basin.

Desire has recently completed a 6 well exploration programme. The Liz well encountered dry gas and gas condensate at 2 separate levels while other wells recorded shows.
Together with the Rockhopper Exploration Sea Lion oil discovery in the licence to the north, these wells have provided significant encouragement for the potential of the North Falkland Basin. The oil at Sea Lion is of particular interest as this has demonstrated that oil is trapped in potentially significant quantities in a fan sandstone on the east flank of the basin. It is believed that over 50% of this east flank play fairway is on Desire operated acreage.

Desire has now completed new 3D seismic acquisition which provides coverage over the east flank play, Ann, Pam and Helen prospects. The results from fast-track processing of priority areas are provided in the 2011 CPR. A farm-out to Rockhopper has been announced. The revised equities are shown on the licence map (subject to regulatory approval and completion of the farm-in well). Desire Petroleum

I'm still in! Apologies for my pessimism earlier last week. As the saying goes "the hour before dawn is the darkest!" I couldn't be a lot more positive at the moment! Having invested in PET middle of last week (ex JKX) which is rocketing I have re-invested profits back into DES!
As a "6 month old new investor", I have learnt an awful lot in the last week believe me. Share trading is character building stuff!
Many thanks to Markymar & JPDM etc for all your positive postings! Keep them up. Without them I think my DES boat would be at the bottom of the South Atlantic by now! We're out of the Doldrums with a fair Trade Wind behind us!

Sal thank you for that post I just wish i could bring some good news for you today but I think we will have to wait till Ian Duncan gets back from Huston and get an update.

Remember this share can fall as quick as it climbs but I do think news is very near and for PET I wish I bought some them at 4p in Jan 2003.

good to see share activity 10 mill over last 2 sessions, news must be close,
shares very volitile but hanging in there.

ps moved straight to goodmaster challenge only to find you beat me to it last
month and finished in a worthy 4th place - i will try to keep the flag flying
this month if i can get on it.

About 2 years ago had them in goodmaster challenge and won a crate of wine but they have stopped that now a few more days mabe would of got NO 1 spot I dont think i can pick the share again 2 month's on the trot so make sure you do as i expect news end of week or Monday when Ian Duncan get back from Huston.

Sounds too good to be true. I think I'll wait for a while. Shares mag had the date the company was coming to the Aim Market but at this moment I can't remember when it will be.

Down today, but I can only think that MM are tree shaking since tomorrow is the launch of FOGL. The volumes are low really which really does not support the fall. ALL MM are supporting the same B/O. Lets see if tomorrow is a great day for company it is at a more advance stage in oil research.

The oil price could reach $80 by the end of 2004. Yet massive reserves - estimated to be the sixth largest in the world - lie untapped beneath the South Atlantic ocean. No choke point would block its transport to Europe, Japan or the US. So DESIRE and Falkland Islands Oil & Gas will be ready soon to deliver these urgently required oil barrels and both companies will be worth a fortune. OIL is also heading for $US100 dollers a barrel in 2005 and who knows what price oil will be in 2006 when these companies start lifting the oil THE POTENTIAL IS HUGE AND THE OIL IS THEIR JUST WAITING.

In 2004, exploration is the buzzword again - drill wells and you find oil! At $40+ per barrel, buying production becomes prohibitive.

NORTH FALKLAND BASIN

We have been involved in all areas of North Falkland exploration with several clients for over eight years. Initial drilling results during 1998 were technically but not commercially successful.

The second phase of Falkland Exploration is gathering momentum despite pessimism from some original participants. We are closely involved with evaluations of all Falkland licence areas through the activities of two clients.

The Desire Petroleum interim 3D interpretation results confirm the high potential of their licence areas. With one of the worlds richest source rocks, relatively shallow water conditions, a benign environment, strong indications of good reservoir potential with DHI's (Direct Hydrocarbon Indicators), farm in partners have an attractive opportunity. Their recent 3D survey is only the second in the area, but the biggest to date. Economics are particularly attractive for their licences at present. We have details.

We watch carefully the activity south of the Falkland Islands that proceeds with FOGL, backed by RAB Capital. This is a frontier area, having scant seismic information, no wells, complex structure, deep water and a harsh climate. Any potential in this area might be ten or more years down the line from the North Falkland Graben - and with much bigger risks.

I see you have an update on your web site on Desire Petroleum and I was wondering do you know how the trip went over in Houston and Canada with the potential Farm-in Partners and is Desire still looking at rig availability and do you think drilling will take place in late 2005.


His reply to email was

I know not the answers to your questions, but from my involvement, it is clear that the Chairman is very positive and he has commented that the 3D preliminaries look very interesting, so one would assume any potential farminees with brains will be carefully considering the obvious attractions of Desire's acreage, which compares well to many world-wide deals.

Everything however, takes time, particularly with the negative press created by Amerada, the Aberdeen fraternity etc. following the technically successful but commercially unsuccessful drilling campaign of 1998.

I think the Houston visit went very well.

So we are no further with no news,but we know its coming soon and after been with this share from day one i am happy to wait and if you are daytrader a good share to make money on the ups and downs in the share price.

Hi marky, I am here and it looks as though you've been busy in this thread for quite a while. I'm not sure about the parrot, maybe the tropical sun has got to it.
The Aberdeen 'Press & Journal' link doesn't really bring up anything new. This information about Ledingham and Chalmers solicitors having a man in the Falklands is not new. As the article hightlights he?she has been there a few years already. or maybe i'm missing something.
