rather than pick out individual stocks to trade, it can often be worthwhile to trade the indices themselves, especially in times of high volatility.

for those so inclined, i attach below charts for FTSE and FTSE 250, though one might equally be tempted to trade Dow or S&P, which is significantly broader in its coverage, or even NASDAQ

for ease of reading, i have attached 1 year and 3 month charts in each instance

taken an early tumble .... no obvious reasons except Macy's figures were obvioulsy awful as that stock is down 13%

just made a nice turn on a long trade here, but would much rather it had stayed above 16,800 which would equally have kept FTSE above 6,300
as it is, we're back into quandary-land once more

markets are turning much stronger than i expected this morning with FTSE having another crack at 6300, which it failed badly to hold last night, especially after hours

Protective stop moved down.

FTSE has now shifted south once more and is bouncing around the important 6250 level

Don't know Stan i don't manipulate the markets ,i wish i could , but i don't think this will carry on ,for me it's just a correction ,i will probably go long FTSE soon and i'm looking at decent stock that have been hit .

I agree, lots of indifferent news about recently pushing the markets down, it can't last.
