One of Ripley's more endearing habits (not) is to sit on the newspaper when someone's reading it - and if that doesn't attract the required attention to get her breakfast pronto, she shreds any bit you can't instantly protect with bodily cover.

Our cat sits on a paper when we are trying to read it, read the paper that is not read the cat. A quick shove with a cushion usually discourages it.

I don't have a cat.

So do you just throw a cushion at the newspaper?

Generally I don't find that newspapers react very well to cushions, the cat on the other hand........
