Dowgate Capital (DGT) are sitting
in the middle of a goldmine!
This company through
their sole trading arm City Financial Associates are looking to take full
advantage of the "booming" AIM market this year.
Dowgate provide NOMAD (NOMinated ADvisor) services to AIM companies
and also have full Corporate Broker status which means that they can fund
placements on behalf of the companies they represent.
|
|
On first sight, the
fact that Dowgate exist in the often veiled financial services sector
makes you think twice about investing in company such as this because
it would be impossible to understand what they were doing - however, think
again!
DGT bring new companies
to the AIM (Alternative Investment Market). For each new company "floated"
on AIM, they take arrangement fees when acting as NOMAD. After the company
is launched then for a nice steady earner DGT get another healthy chunk
of cash every year for looking after them (note that all AIM companies
must have a nominated adviser - thereby securing a ready source of recurring
income).
Because DGT also act
as a Corporate broker they can get a very healthy percentage for arranging
placement of shares with insititutions before a new company floats. In
addition, because placements come outside the sphere of yearly NOMAD work,
they can also gain healthy percentages of placements which companies may
need to make throughout the year when they need a quick injection of cash
to speed growth.
Current NOMADships:
28 companies represented (gives recurring income of approx 480,000
per year)
Current on-going Brokerage
agreements: 19 companies (income depends on placements)
For flotations, depending
on the size of a company, fees charged will be anything from 50,000
to 100,000+
For placements (the real earner), DGT get anything from 3% to around 12%
of the TOTAL AMOUNT RAISED - For example a new company raising 3M
though a placement will earn DGT anything from 90,000 to 360,000
!
These figures are indicative as actual deals all differ due to circumstances
and DGT sometimes take payment in shares - they still have a tasty chunk
of Setstone shares and when this Russian exploration company comes back
to AIM, predictions are that the share price will rocket.
Note that the amount that this little company can earn in fees is huge
and every new deal that comes through we know will contribute another
healthy chunk into the bottom line. The good news with every new floatation
means that it's another chunk of recurring revenue which could go on for
years, with DGT having to do very little.
New clients gained in 2005 are:
Mediazest
(NOMAD & broker) Elite Strategies (NOMAD) Process Handling (NOMAD) Poland Investment Fund (NOMAD) Nanotech Energy (NOMAD & broker) Archimedia Ventures (NOMAD & broker) Red Leopard Holdings (NOMAD) Alba Mineral Resources (NOMAD & broker) Intandem Films (NOMAD & broker) Motive Television (NOMAD) IncaGold (NOMAD) Sportswinbet (NOMAD & Broker) Infoscreen Networks (NOMAD & Broker) Mark Kingsley (NOMAD & Broker) Croatia Ventures (NOMAD & Broker) Pantheon Leisure (NOMAD) Firenze Ventures (Ofex Advisor) FlightStore Group (NOMAD & Broker) Euro Capital Projects (NOMAD) Pearl Street Holdings (NOMAD) Worldwide Natural Resources (Ofex Advisor) Dovedale Ventures (Ofex Advisor) Other 2005 work completed:Neptune-Calculus VCT offer for subs of up to 12 million

lol
just an opinion
i never ramped it i said it was worth a look
ramping in my opinion is someone who imagines that hes on a loser and tries to intise others to bail him/ or them out
not like some who are hoping that the masses will come round the corner and rescue them
as for getting back in i think if u look at the cfp thread and even on here i have said not before hell freezes over
unlike new posters i have been in cfp seen how it was(in my opinion) run got burnt and made the decision to bail out at a lose
unlike some i have made me loses back but hey some ppl like s&m
me im not into pain
so buy more butane and as ive said before i hope they make it(just to prove i was not wrong in first place)
mind u if u like it so much why dont you do a kaytel(remington)i liked it so much i bought the company)) i can see the share flying on this takeover news)))
sometimes its like your own thread on here
lol

deadfred, You seem like a very bitter person.
You make it clear that you will never buy into DGT and you resent the fact that DGT is now a strong and credible company yet you keep returning here to vent your anger over your losses with CFP??.............you have only yourself to blame that you sold out too soon!
Dont you feel it's time to move on?.......
Are you going to haunt the SYM board when you lose even more cash on that one too?
I have to say, stevie made a good point....maybe you should find yourself a day job, you really dont sound cut out for this game.
I'll have a word with chelwood (another 'non-holding' pain in the arse) on the other bb, he might be able to put a good word in for you at McDonalds where he works.....you should be ok for the job as it is becoming clearer that your IQ level should be a perfect fit.
ps...Yes, i bought more of DGT yesterday!
FWIW...I have continuously held this share from 2001....Through the Abinger/CFP/DGT changes of company names.

nice to here seems like you and stevie are always how do u say it backing each other up
nice to have friends
now if my opinion aint worth a hill of beans plz ignore me
it would hurt me to see two friends posting such brilliant posts over what i have said after all its only an opinion
oh and im sorry but no one told me you butane and good old stevie boy had bought the rights to the thread posting machine
mind u would explain why you and he or her always seem to back each other up
now as for bitter i have no malice towards a living sole or company and if you had taken time to digest what i have said u would see that
some ppl engage there mouths(or in this case there fingers) before there grey matter has taken anything in
as a man said to me once you can spot the brainy ones and the clever ones by how fast they can answer a question the fik ones answer quicker than the rest
lol
now get over the fact that i come on here to look or even post as i have an opinion of my own unlike two ppl i could mention that seem to speak with the one voice
imho life is life
so pick up your toys and put them back in the pram
oh give stevie a hand with his there is a good chap

deadfred, You really do need to seek help.....god help us all if every one of us who lost money on a share repeatedly posted on the thread when they no longer held!
How would you feel if i did the same as you and, as a non-shareholder, went onto the SYM thread and de-ramped sym with out of date nonsense??
The more you post - the less 'bright' you seem..
Give it a rest and pay more attention to the shares that you DO hold, you might lose less money that way.

deadfred, Sorry mate, you've completely lost any credibility you had left, no reason to respond to you anymore....McDonalds beckons you.
Good-bye.
I would be interested though to read what other DGT INVESTORS think about deadfreds de-ramping postings?

does anyone want to talk about why the SP went up 10% today.....
ie talk about the company not its investors...please....
thank you
I have missed the opportunity to average down recently and wonder how anyone saw any indicators to the next few months movement, based on known facts of course...
All opinions gratefuly received without judgement.
have a nice evening

GN - see my previous recent posts a few pages ago as to what I am basing my position on in terms of outcome for this year and estimates for next which I think makes the SP worth nearer .85p.
I think we are just moving into pre-results time when buy on hope/rumour starts. Let's hope results won't cause a mass exodus by being only average! With only 7 trades showing on Digital Look today it's difficult to get much sense on just below average volume. BTW the last 500k trade could well be a buy since it was a T trade and reported after the order had been completed earlier in the day - I suspect a partner to the opening 500k buy at same price.
The sells are possibly weak holders nervous after so long in the doldrums seizing an early chance to scarper. With the numbers I've done and a nice break up through the 200dma I'd be adding if not already well overweight.

If the half year results are extrapolated for the full year at the recent sp the shares were on a PE of 5. They have recruited an additional staff member in January which suggests to me they are busy and for me it is therefore worth the bet.

Guys, Ladies... please chill!
Like Butane, I have owned this stock right back to Abinger and CFA (CFP) days albeit taking 2 lots of profit en route. Now I am sitting on a big "paper loss" having been "guided" back in by 2 amigos (sorry, guys - I won't mention names here!!). Think we can best summarise the New Regime, as follows, IMHO: -
New men in charge - a far better run organisation than before.
Dowgate is in prime position to benefit on the success of AIM - potential is HUGE!
However I think they lost a lot of street cred. & respect by giving themselves OTT bonuses, last year.
Even with mediocre results - rewards could/should still be very profitable < 12 months' time.
I am still holding. But as soon as it hits my target sp - then I'm out. That's all I will say for now.
Best wishes to all holders, especially long term holders, like Butane. But, to be fair, you cannot blame the likes of DF for being bitter when the company promises the earth only to reward it's management team with huge [selfish!] bonuses to the detriment of loyal long term shareholders, can you?

thanks SD (andC9) for your coherent and focused analysis ( as usual)
I may well sell out my loss making position elsewhere and try and recover some of it here...theres never a sure thing but I am no longer in the mood for next big things (not) and need somewhere a little more certain but with a speculative edge.
lets see where the figures go this time around....

I'm looking at 353k profits for full year after a busy 2nd half but where not so many deals closed for a PE of 9.27 - still only three quarters of where it should be. This could be conservative 'cos I never did find out if TGM's bus service disposal fell into H1 or H2. If H2 add 50-100k more to net profits for full year for a PE of 8 to 8.7 - two thirds of where we could be.
Next year I'm looking at 422k net profit for a PE for 7.9 about five eights where it should be and a PEG of 0.41.
So I'm looking for a mid SP of around 0.85p in the mid term - by year end certainly.
Anyone want to open a book on 1p by Xmas?

Stockdog, Many regular posters here were prohesising 1.35p, MINIMUM last summer - very quiet ATM! :o(

Some were also prophesying it!
They (including me) were wrong as it turns out. However, with H1 results published and tracking H2 deals, the risk is very much lower now than last summer, which makes the more modest gains I hope for justified. No good singing an old song at next year's Eurovision contest - you won't make the entry lists, let alone get a place. You are right about then. What you need to be is right about now and the future in changed and changing circumstances.
What worries me is df's "well said" - that really scares me!
