ASOS: BUY AT LOW PRICE!!!! (ASC)

wilco99 - 12 Sep 2003 15:52

ASOS have dropped quite significantly in the past week for no particular reason and I view this as the perfect opportunity to invest as I can see them bouncing right back up to the 5.50p mark in the next 2-3 weeks. STRONG BUY!!

up again today , so far . oh i wish i had got in at 9p.i blame my girlfriend. i read about asos and then asked her to look at the web site and see if she would buy anything from them . if she said yes , i was going to buy at 9p . she didnt look . she forgot. so i lay the blame totally on her shoulders. i did eventually get in but at 25p. but , what the hell , a profit is a profit , and i have not had many of them lately. personally , i agree with gallick ,184. most of us do our trading over the net , younger consumers are doing more shopping over the net . talking to youngsters they still go to the shops , look , touch, feel , decide , then find somewhere thats cheaper , if thats asos , or another site , then thats where they will buy . they dont have the same fears as us older mortals .

shares mag has the s pierce 100 target in 12 months, this was posted by me no 162 on the 20th.cheers woodie ps reason for todays rise

bosley - 22 Jul 2004 10:46 - 191 of 5941

ASOS was advised today that Quentin Griffiths sold 352,571 ordinary shares of
the Company and he now has an interest in 8,650,000 ordinary shares,
representing 12.39 per cent. of the issued share capital of the Company

is he just cashing in or trying to satisfy some of the demand for shares in asos?

bosley - 22 Jul 2004 11:46 - 192 of 5941

i guess a lot of people are following his lead . price dropping like a stone now.

Play of the week in shares mag.

legend290782 - 23 Jul 2004 14:07 - 195 of 5941

Woodie, gallick, I am back. Do you remember me when asos was at 7-8p? Well I sold at 40p (unfortunately!!), i am not sure whether to get back in these, especially at the price they are now!!

I have found another ASOS I think... Have a look at Tradingsports Exchange Systems (TES) and the commentry on the site. It has taken a bit of a hammering over the past year just like ASOS did when it dropped from 24p to 5p.

Ray Ranson (ex footballer) has bought 10% of the company at 21.5p... He is no fool. With the price at 15p, they look a snip.

As for ASOS, what do you guys think as a fair price??

jj50 - 23 Jul 2004 16:40 - 196 of 5941

I am still holding - up 523%! Comment in FT yesterday - "the web information service Hitwise recorded Asos as the UKs second most popular clothing retail website in June". "..The company's marketing drive has stepped up with advertisements in celebrity magazines and plans to team up with the pop band Girls Aloud to include flyers in their next two singles". "Seymour Pierce, which has a "buy" recommendation and aprice target of 100p, is forecasting pretax profits will more than double to 1.36m this year. This provides a price/earnings ratio of 30.7 which is more expensive compared with more established retailers, who, however, struggle for the same winning appeal".

IMHO there is bound to be profit taking but seems to bounce back and still looks good in the medium term. Keep in mind tax advantages of AIM shares if you have CGT liability.

saturn5 - 23 Jul 2004 16:42 - 197 of 5941

ASC starting to rise again. Just hang on in there. I fancy next resistance to be around 80p

capa - 23 Jul 2004 16:45 - 198 of 5941

Don't compare ASOS's p/e with other retailers if you do the share price will seem expensive.

You have to look at etailers for a comparison to get a true picture and then you will see that even after the monumental rise in share price they are still good value.

I too have watched and waited---I'm very jealous of you lucky punters!! Is it too late to join the fun? I thought they would drop back but it just isn't happening!

AdieH - 24 Jul 2004 12:38 - 201 of 5941

Got in at 65p, think as the broker says 1.00 target price...

Kivver - 25 Jul 2004 11:46 - 202 of 5941

After following this share after being tipped at 7p i thought i had missed the boat and bought finally at 40p and it is still going. Reminds of TelecomPlus about a year ago which just kept going up and up for the whole year. You keep saying to yourself it cannot go any higher but it does. I am worried about this poor summer having an affect on summer trading. If it gets through the 70p barrier it could go all the way.

gallick - 25 Jul 2004 17:40 - 203 of 5941

>> jj50

Interesting that PE will be about 30 if SP's projected figs are correct. IMHO the PE is not too relevant where you have got such a fast growth story. Infact a PE of 30 sounds quite comforting to me and I am sure it will go much higher as share price rises. Brokers are usually fairly conservative with projections, and for me 100p is conservative on a 12 month basis. I'll stick my neck out...100p by the end of the year (but don't come looking for me if I'm wrong!!)

>> legend - good to hear from you again, I'll check out TES.
