Welcome to MoneyAM

Bullshare - 22 Jan 2003 20:35

Welcome to MoneyAM.

Today sees the launch of MoneyAM, a bright new financial website for the smart investor. Our aim is quite simple: we aim to become the UK's leading web-based supplier of shares related content and data.

Streaming real time share prices, up to the minute portfolios, live city news, email alerts, bulletin boards, company fundamentals plus expert analysis supplied by the same award-winning team of journalists, analysts and researchers that produce Shares Magazine every week. These are just some of the great features that MoneyAM provides free to anyone who registers on the site.

Our premium paid for services are compelling and competitively priced and a must for the serious investor/trader. Unlimited level 1, FTSE indices, alerts, Premium market scan tools and the Traders Room (Bulletin Board) are just some of the extras on offer. Level 2 services will be coming to MoneyAM very soon!!!

We hope you enjoy using the site.

Regards

Mike Boydell
Managing Director

I just want to add my congratulations to the team at Moneyam.com who I know have worked like crazy to get the site up and running. From our perspective the site is an important development because the blending of specialist magazines and proper trader websites are something that people have dreamed of in this area but have rarely achieved. The trick is for you to see people from Shares in and around the web-site and, similarly, to see the web-site's features prominently displayed in the magazine. We are one of the few web sites to have a full editorial team that has a brief to file for the web-site as well as the magazine and, when combined with the trader tools and information, will provide a service that is hard to replicate. The philosophy of the magazine has always been to create information and services that narrows the gap between institutional and private investors. We know that this site is the first step in a range of innovations that will provide such a service. Naturally we need support - your support! Not just your kind words but your subscriptions to our services. Happily the days of free on-line information are coming to an end. Happily, I say, because you know the only other people getting the information are as serious about their investment as you are.

Congrats on the new site, every financial web site will display the same qoute for your shares so additional content is most welcome and im sure that Shares mag can provide that.

By the way great site thanks !!

Mr Ashley James - 23 Jan 2003 14:53 - 25 of 294

Moneyman,

I think Traders Room is for Beta Testers only unless subscription only a fiver a month paid.

It is far more active in there.

Cheers

So what does this site have that ADVFN doesn't?

Crocodile - 23 Jan 2003 15:06 - 27 of 294

jaanimaagi welcome
Nearly everyone that was banned from ADVFN
The extra 5 for the Traders Room is well worth considering
D.

moneyman - 23 Jan 2003 15:11 - 28 of 294

Croc does the 5 only give access to the BB?

Haystack - 23 Jan 2003 15:13 - 29 of 294

Much faster and more reliable streaming prices etc. based on a more modern technology which is more scaleable. It also has Crocodile's traders thread each day. On the traders BB it has all the experts who used to be on A***N.

It will have a stricter code of behaviour than A***N. I don't think that personal attacks, abuse, posting hundreds of new threads about nothing, libelous and slanderous comments about people, obscenities will be tolerated. It wil be a place for people discuss financial and other topics in a more friendly and intelligent way. I don't think AM will sit by and let a few idiots ruin the BB as A***N have.

Crocodile - 23 Jan 2003 15:36 - 30 of 294

Good points Haystack

NickB - 23 Jan 2003 15:41 - 31 of 294

Not many posts on the 'free bb'

Mr Ashley James - 23 Jan 2003 15:46 - 32 of 294

NickB,

No there really is a fairly active Traders Thread Community on Traders BB with around 300 posts on it.

The community is really established there.

Cheers

Ash

NickB: the Investors' Room has only been open for business for one day, whereas the Traders' Room has been in use from pre-Beta days. For example, the Problems and enhancements thread was orginally started by IST's Engineering Director for use in-house in IST and MoneyAM.

I'm sure that traffic will build rapidly over the next days and weeks.

BTW, welcome!

Derek (IST and MoneyAM)

I hope this can be a sensible information and debate forum.I fear that too many bulletin boards are dominated by trivial comment and ,sadly, some topics are hijacked by people who use it as a means of sounding off on issues that are not relevant.

Crocodile - 23 Jan 2003 19:22 - 35 of 294

nathan
Its always a fine balance between free speech and abusing the system. I can tell you that it will be constantly monitored and any offensive material will soon be dealt with.
However trivial comment will always go an and certainly should be allowed as long as it does not disrupt the BB.
The Traders room which is subscription should have a higher content of share talk and analysis.
D,

Hi Nick B!

NickB - 23 Jan 2003 19:54 - 36 of 294

ck - 23 Jan 2003 20:58 - 37 of 294

HELLO PEOPLE.....NickB...nice to see you are still around....etrade/advfn..regulars i see are still using same nicknames....as i am...plonker!.....

bullshare.....
wouldit be possible to make the stockwatch narrower?.....how much for the L2 as i am just about to sign up with proquotes, butif this is cheaper here i will let u have my money instead....

jaanimagi - 24 Jan 2003 10:30 - 38 of 294

So - basically it's a cheaper version of ADVFN without as many research tools and bulletin boards full of people booted of ADVFN and iii... and how can they possibly affird to knock out Level2 for 5?

But, it feels slicker than ADVFN and is a worthwhile addition to my favourites list. Good luck.

This is truly the death knell for iii.
