everybody dreams of picking the right penny share for the top.i myself am about to start a new portfolio and would like some ideas from the punters on this forum.

I hold pursuit, and would recommend anyone on here look at their website, this really could be a winner, IMHO!

There is certainly some risk, as with all potential high growth shares, but PDX are certainly worth a modest punt, depending on your acceptance of risk of course.

thanks will consider...5 isnt much you are right but i once had a wife with that mentality. endless mail order catalogues where she bought loads of stuff....."its only 2/3/50p a month. no offence intended to your post.

Atlantic Global (ATL) for me. Being vaunted as the next Gresham Computing. Has risen drastically since beginning of year. News expected out this week, and this share could rise rapidly. A real growth share.

Bizspace (BIZ) is another favourite, but one you have to hold and hold and hold. Not a get rich quick share unless you are privvy to pre-results info.
Has slipped back a touch to look cheap for a growth stock.

Tenon Group (TNO). Bob Morton has a large holding here. Usually places his money with great effect. They are cutting costs drastically and installing top management. Recovery stock. I'll hold for 18-24 mnths and expect a good profit.

Sorry guys, ATL isn't going to be a penny share much longer. +22.5% today :-)

Farmboy - I recently saw your post from this morning on todays traders thread & thoughts - wish I had looked earlier! Any chance of anymore like that?

Only other "Pennies" I hold are :-

CAV - Chelsea Village, something going on there, but not sure what. Speculative
AGP - AIT Group, sure it is a good recovery stock, but management not the best. Recovery play and looks to have cleared the 30p hurdle for good.
ETL - EuroTunnel - a shot in the dark

Obviously - DYOR.

CAV - up 17% today so I see what you mean about something going on and infact this one has gone up nearly 50% in the last month ?????????

AGP - I have some of these purchased at an outrageous prices over 2 years ago, just before 'the shit hit the fan!'(equ. 250!) Too scared to buy back but should bite the bullet to help clear out the portfolio. I must admit the news looks more positive - but not sure if I am brave enough to take a chance.....

ETL - Got some of these 2 years ago, currently showing a 40% loss. Recent took the plunge a purchased a small amount more. I know one of the contractors on the new tunnel, which he's says it is proceeding well.

Don't have a problems with the reseach bit, but often it's just step one, which companies to do research on! I try to look round the BB's for suggestions, and have a couple of sectors and a core of companies that I keep an eye on, but try to add the odd one from time to time, sometimes removing one to keep it all fresh and interesting! Easier said than done, with limited time!

HAR Up 70% today and set for more.
IMD Profitable and huge growth potential.
SGD Likewise good results and agressive growth.
ECK Worth a punt as BT deal works through.

Take a look at Thus. Ft250 company but 19p odd as I type. DYOR of course

my old man used to always say" Keep you money in your sporan, and your hand on your penny", maybe he was appalled by penny shares, never understood really.

EVS - Envesta - maybe not one for those that know Stephen Dean all too well!! Now he has gone, Seymour Pierce PDF buy note worth a look. Usual risks but supposedly making money and cleared debt from cashflow. Recently been diluted by preference share conversions, but this will mean long term saving on pref dividends. I have held and traded these for, on and off, for a couple of years. Question my sanity but if Seymour Pierce are right it could be quite solid in the end. Basically a boring telecoms that is doing what it says! Stephen Dean managed to stage some corporate gaffs as you would expect, but he is now gone!!!!

Hold OXS and AVM also. OXS showing me better than expected returns to date! AVM results in July, to be in or out, well I'm staying in!!! Also Game Group (GMG) AGM in couple of days - this is a qualifier as a penny stock at under 1 (60p), oh, and also SEG (SCi Ent) must qualify too!

Well farmboy, now we know why your tip for CAV (now up more than 100% from a month ago!) was going up - Ken Bates sold his entire holding to a Russain Millionaire. Whats the betting that he eventually takes over the company!

That was an excellent share.

I fancy corus,thus,pursuit dynamics and osmetech.Will also take a position in new issue african diamonds.

I still like HIF, 4.25 to buy. The floor I guess is 3p mid bcause that is what Canaccord institutional clients paid recently. The co. needs to do placings to fulfil its growth ambitions and IMO this must be on an increasing price scale. Not a zoom to the sky share, not all at once, but if held will reward manyfold over time.

Hell I have got 500 quid on HIF, I wouldn't venture more mind!

Re diamonds River Diamonds (OFEX stock) has actually found some quite nice sparkly ones I believe
